|Address||Viale Parioli, 00197 Roma, Italy|
The apartment offered has an area of 58sqm and is fully furnished and renovated. It has an independent heating system, two bedrooms, the first one with a double bed and the other one with two single beds (which if necessary can be attached), a big table with chairs, a bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen, with a mini fridge and a washing machine. The apartment is provided with clean linen, TV, free Wi-Fi, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, making it comfortable for longer stays.
Viale Parioli is one of the most famous streets in Rome, where you’ll find some of the most popular restaurants in the city, such as: La Celestina, La Scala, Il Caminetto, La Pariolina, all very close; near the house there are many supermarkets, bars, clothing and footwear shops and many services as banks, pharmacies, etc..
The apartment is reached by bus from the central train station, Termini Station, in about 15 minutes and is near the famous Villa Borghese and the famous Zoo. One of the most famous streets near the apartment is Veneto Street where there is a metro stop that takes you to the center of the city and from where it is possible to reach the center on foot taking the escalators in just a few minutes.
In addition, in the immediate vicinity you can visit the famous Borghese Museum, the National Gallery of Modern Art, the Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, the Auditorium Parco della Musica and the National Museum of XXI Century Arts Maxxi.

This is one of the WIMDU places where one is sorely tempted not to write too enthusiastically about, lest it is booked solid when you ever want to come back. The apartment is located in a very posh neighborhood of Northern Rome named Parioli (lots of embassies etc). No surprise that the quarter is packed with nice restaurants, shops and up market food stores etc.. Right across the street is an excellent pizza place called “La Parioli” that became our favorite. It is usually packed with Romans which is always a good sign (--> make a reservation, especially on weekends or eat well before 8 pm when the place starts to fill up). The many embassies also have the nice side effect that police is never far and I would rate Parioli one of the safest if not the safest and quietest neighborhood in central Rome. The great thing is that despite these obvious advantages, all the major sights of Rome are just a 30 minute walk away. A reasonably fit person can cross the Villa Borghese park (also great for running) and be on the Spanish steps in 25 minutes. If you don’t like walking, there is a direct bus to Termini station (Number 223) or trams number 3 and 19 within reasonable walking distance (600 m/yards).
The place itself is something very special and unique. It looks as if it was originally a janitor’s/caretaker’s/chauffeur’s apartment and is located in the inner courtyard of a classic Rome apartment block from the late 19th century. The best way to describe it is a free standing bungalow in the inner courtyard. It is only accessible by descending a stair, so it is decidedly not suitable for handicapped persons (but the owner points this out). If one opens all the shutters, the place is very light but the downside is that people have a clear view at you from the surrounding apartments. We were there in March but I would imagine that the place is also very cool during the stifling hot summer months. The furnishing is adequate, no-nonsense IKEA fare down to the brightly colored sheets. There is a small fully equipped kitchen (no oven) and a very small but sufficient fridge. To us, eating out quickly loses its appeal if you have to do it every day so it was nice to be able to occasionally make simple dishes like Spaghetti Aglio I Olio or cook some artichokes to be enjoyed with some wine after a long day of sightseeing. A particular PLUS for the place are three things that can –at least from our past experience- prove sore points in Italy. One: there is plenty of hot water for all occupants to have decent showers in the morning! Two and three: The heating system works in cold weather and the AC works in hot weather! The owner, Emanuela, is very helpful and will provide you with loads of useful information before you arrive. She also responds to e-mails and text messages within an hour at the most. Her assistant, Mauro, speaks good English and explained the workings of the place well. Our seven days have been an altogether memorable experience and we will definitely be back!
We absolutely felt in love with Emanuela's place! Best choise for staying in Rome - Parioli is a beautiful district, well-located, not very touristic, with great places for dinner and breakfast nearby (We loved a lot our breakfasts with fresh croissants in Il Dodo (2 mins from flat - just cross the street, and dinner in La Pariolina - same located just at the opposite side of the street). The supermarket is also in walking distance.
The flat itself is just terrific. First of all, it is a real "villa" inside the house :) If you will go there you will understand what I mean :) Very tidy, spacious, full of light, 2 comfortable bedrooms (although we were 2 couples and 1 room had 2 separate beds we had a comfortable sleep for 3 nights). There are even windows in the ceiling which we loved a lot! The bathroom is spacious and clean, the kitchen is very comfortable and well-equipped.
Emanuela's assistant Mauro was very polite and was waiting for us when we were late due to the tough traffic in Rome (if you travel in the evening by car from the Southern part of Rome - estimate your staying in the traffic for at least 2 hours, as the flat is located just in the opposite part of Rome). Although we've found a free parking near the home next day we dropped off the car as it is almost impossible to drive it in Rome - better choose a scooter :D
Villa Borghese is just 20 mins walking, the city centre - 40 mins by foot or 15 mins by bus. We have chosen walking and enjoyed the beautiful streets of Rome.
We did not meet Emanuela herself, but she communicates with us very responsibly and she is very reliable, she gave us all directions and a lot of tips before our arrival to Rome, which we appreciate a lot.
Emanuela, thank you for everything! We enjoyed our stay and definitely next time in Rome will come back to your place!
Grazie mille and buona fortuna!
We spent a week in late October Emanuela apartment and enjoyed the stay very much. The house is peacefully situated in a good, safe area. There are many restaurants in all price categories. The apartment is convenient. In terms of value for money, we were very pleased.
In the kitchen is a large table where we could sit comfortably in threes.
Emanuela has sent all the information in the prior e-mail and was very helpful and hospitable. Per SMS you could arrange the time of arrival / key collection.
She even worried an electric kettle for us. Mauro gave us a warm and shown everything. Although we were delayed on Sunday due to the arrival, he has been waiting patiently for us. It is recommended that early enough to send a text message. We'll do better next time.
Very important on arrival: The buses no stops are announced or displayed.
To exit the restaurant Celestina, you have to press the STOP button immediately after the holding station, which is located on the left at the roundabout with the flower stand!
The Celestina is a small glass porch and has no logo at the house. You can see it from so far. If you press the Stop button on the bus early enough, the bus drives past simple.
At the kiosk right at the roundabout (next to the flower stand) you can get all kinds of bus tickets, however, the kiosk is directly next to the house only 150 min. Cards.
The ride from / to Termini takes about 20 minutes, the line is the 217
Direction city comes after about 5 minutes the links to the American Embassy. There you can change to Tram 19 (goes directly to the Vatican), which runs a very interesting plug, past the Villa Giulia, Villa Borghese and the modern art gallery.
The supermarket is within easy reach about 300m into town on foot (DESPAR). He has Mo-SA. open from 8-21 Clock, Sun Clock to 20.
Directly opposite the bus stop and a very good baker is (leads everything your heart desires).
The only thing maybe is not so good, is just go on holidays every 1/2 hour, the buses on Sundays and - but we have gladly taken into account, because we really had a good sleep. Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning worked perfectly. However, a narrow staircase leads down to the appartent (not suitable for wheelchair access) and you can not sit in the yard (it's just a backyard that does not look inviting).
Cooked we do not have - the shutters we have not opened, because then each of the surrounding residents could look in the windows.
Maybe some curtains would be the solution for it.
The only thing that would have to be purchased, would be a shower curtain.
We would not hesitate to stay again at Emanuela ... and Rome is anyway always worth a visit.
Excellent accommodations for several days Rome. The bus stops right outside Termini, bakery on the other side, supermarket down the street and restaurants.
Welcoming reception on arrival.
Unfortunately, we must also acknowledge the criticism of my predecessor vote. The kitchen is poor, old zerkratze pans and def. Cooking pots. All very zusammengeürfeltes inventory (also applies to the rest of the equipment too). The apartment is located in a not very descriptive courtyard of an apartment building. Positively to the location of the apartment located in front of the door and the bus stop is closeby shops (high street, SPAR) for self-catering. The apartment we can only partially friend.
Emanuela was very nice and helpful. The kitchen equipment was however poor - old pans that you should definitely replace times, no wine glasses, not even the usual in all Italian households "Caffettiera." In addition, we were woken at 2.30 clock at night and by 3 clock because someone rang the doorbell. We can not recommend this apartment unfortunately.
And 'everything went well! The house was clean and in a quiet area. Not central, but still very well served by public transport (only on Sunday morning we had to wait a bit 'more because the bus would pass).
Emanuela was held in contact with us via SMS to make sure everything was ok. negative note: the kitchen was not well stocked (for example lacked the tablecloth and glasses for three people ... for the latter, however, Emanuela has provided as soon as we have pointed out the lack of it), but especially the shower would require perhaps a little 'maintenance by Because the water was boiling at times and immediately after freezing, but especially spouting from all sides because the handle leaked and the water jet coming out of them .. apart from that I would say that it was a fantastic experience!
E' andato tutto bene!
Realtivamente well located apartment. Bus Frequency grim, run every 40 minutes on average to take you downtown. On occasions it can be exasperating. The apartment is small but seems to be well maintained, with the exception of bedding, we found quite dirt and stains. Also note the amount of insects, mainly ants roam the floor, including kitchen areas. We found ants in jars of salt, sugar ... etc. We solve spraying insecticide found in the floor. The city itself is beautiful, but with a crazy traffic. Ideal destination for lovers of classical and Renaissance art, plus you can go and enjoy a very important part of history. For your entertainment and night, I definitely recommend the neighborhood of Trastevere (reasonable prices, good atmosphere gear, shops and open stalls, and entertainment)
Piso realtivamente bien situado.
