Golden Gates Gorges Castle in Inner Sunset

The accommodation at the Golden Guest Castle is very comfortable, roomy and Michael is very helpful. He kndly allowed us to stay until 6pm.

A bit grubby could do with a good clean , cobwebs hanging fron celling and walls in main lounge and bedrooms .2nd bed a sofa bed in lounge room, not good when traveling with 2 children to get to kitchen and bathroom had to go through main hallway not self contained as thought when booked. Kitchen area good and clean , bathroom and toilet combined very small , washbasin in halway to back garden! Host Michael helpful and friendly , OK for short stay 1-2 nights.

4 of us stayed at GGGC (2 Brits and 2 Ozzys) as it seemed a cheaper and safer option than testing the SF hotels. I wasn't disappointed. The apartment is clean, free of mildew and dust and easily sleeps 4. Our bed in the main room was comfortable and an ideal place to read when jet lag woke me up at stupid o clock in the morning. The kitchen serves well as a breakfast area and also a cards and pizza joint if the weather is particularly awful. If we had had more sunshine we would have taken morning coffee in the garden which is beautifully kept by the owner. The office has a working computer with quick internet, ideal for fb/blogging or e mails. If you fancy the City, San Fran is a 10 minute down hill walk to the train stop and a 15 min ride and $2 fair in to the centre. If you you don't care for the hustle and bustle there are numerous excellent restaurants and friendly bars within walking distance of GGGC and if you want to escape people The Japanese Tea Gardens and surrounding greenery is a down hill stroll. If you're not going to spend much time in your sleeping quarters then hotels are a better option, however if you want to get over your jet lag and have somewhere comfortable to chill in between your sight seeing and gourmet fest, then GGGC is a place worth staying in.

I've stayed multiple times with Michael, as his place was very nice and available at dates requested. Recommend without restriction!

Upstairs - I was impressed by the sumptuous decoration of the apartment. It feels like you are somewhere between Russia and China with a touch of the 80's. Very comfortable bed, lots of light in the living room. The kitchen is good and has some nice lighting effects that the host Michael is proud to claim as his invention. The apartment is very clean and neat. There is a little deck in the back of the apartment where you can seat with your computer, read a book or just relax. Washer and dryer available downstairs and also barbeque place. Easy street parking and walking distance tot he Golden Gate Park. The host, Michael is a very friendly guy with a strong Russian accent.

So nice!! It was very great and covenient flat. We enjoyed our Stay. Michael is the best host. Thank you for everything!!

Nice place, very quiet and comfortable appartment. We really appreciate this with our two young children. You feel like at home. The area is great, just near the Golden Gate Park with everything you need in the neighborhood. (especially the Irish Grocery "Roxie"). The N line drives you downtown in less than 20 minutes. Michael is a very pleasant host taking care of every demand. He knows SF well and is a real live visitor center ! We spent a great week there. Anne & Youenn

"If Your Going To San Francisco, be sure to stay at Michael's"!!! A great location away from the hustle and bustle but in easy reach of transportation, costing only $2. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering break, all mod cons and very clean. Michael is extremely friendly and helpful

Apartment is fine value and neighbourhood safe/quiet, with plenty of characterful restaurants. Not ideal location for exploring unless you have car- some way from downtown SF. Note that you will have to pay 15% state tax on top, + a deposit. Michael is a good and caring host.

Friendly and welcoming owner. This ground floor flat is well located and well furnished.
