Berg am Laim is situated in the east of Munich and is easily reached through the optimal transport connection. Tube, urban railway and bus’ lines in North-South-direction ensure a quick way into the city center or the hinterlands; there is a tram stopping about 50m off the flat that takes less than 15min. to Ostbahnhof, where from every destination in Munich can easily be reached.
One of these destinations might be St. Michaels church, placed directly in Berg am Laim, but slightly off the tourists’ tracks. (Clemes-August-Straße 9a.) This late baroque building with it pompous rococo interior is a site well-worth seeing for every culture vulture.
For anybody looking for slightly more action the animal museum where various stuffed animal can be found might be worth a visit. (Truderingerstr. 219)
