1 Minutes walking distance to Tin Hau MTR, 10 mins walk to Causeway Bay.
located at 6 Floor (No Elevator)
Here living in Causeway Bay (CWB) you can enjoy yourself in Hong Kong in different ways:
Shopping:
Department stores, malls as well as boutique shops. From local, traditional stuff to global brands, you can find them all in CWB. The famous Time Square is in CWB as well.
Food:
Nearly all famous restaurants will open at least one branch in CWB. Meanwhile you can try local food stalls. Just wander around and you may explore some great restaurants!
Recreation:
The Victoria Park nearby is such a huge garden in the midst of the city. Go for a walk and get some fresh air! There are also basketball & soccer fields.
Daily need:
Supermarkets and convenient stores opens till late daily. Basically you can get everything you need in walking distance.
We are seasoned travelers with previous vacation apartment experiences in other part of the world; some less developed that Hong Kong. When we arrived, we were disappointed with the condition of the apartment. It was very unclean, dirty dishes, mold in the shower, ill equipped kitchen, leftover outdated food in the fridge, no towels and garbage stuffed in cupboards. With further inspection we found the pictures did not accurately depict the place. Cracked, chipped ceiling plaster with patches of mold growing through it (which explains the lingering mildew odor); two of us experienced bites from the bed we were sleeping on. In fairness, the host (or whoever we communicated with, we never met him) did respond to our immediate concerns within 24 hours. The apartment was cleaned, towels supplied, bed sheets changed etc. The issues with the mold in the ceiling and the gas stove not working remain. We did have one electric element to use thought. This apartment has great potential with a little work and a little more attention to visitor needs. It is a very good location with easy access to most things to Hong Kong. It is also easily accessible to the airport. I am sure the host is well intentioned, but as you can see from several reviews, what people expected and what they found did not match. The lack of an elevator is the only drawback that cannot be addressed. In conclusion, I hope that the owners attend to the issues and begin to deliver on their promise as this could be a very good accommodation. If the issues are addressed, I’d recommend this apartment in the future.
Huge apartment that can certainly fit up to 16 people. The location is great, not so close to all the madness of CWB but a nice walk away. Victoria Park is 2 minute walk from the apartment which is nice.
The only downside I need to mention is that the apartment was obviously not cleaned before we arrived and there was a pair of mens underwear hanging on the doorknob of the bathroom.
Everything is the same as on the pictures, we had good stay there.
APARTMENT is good and spacious, fully furnished with all amenities.
It's on upper floor without elevator, but I like it's good for little exercise.
LOCATION is very good, just few steps from Tin Hau subway station.
HOST is good and reliable, they reply emails and messages promptly.
We stayed in Tommy's flat for 2 nights in HK, the location of the flat is very good. Even though we have to walk up to the 6/F but the area is pretty central and safe. However, the flat wasn't clean at all, it was very dusty. It seemed as though no one had been there for a while. We found some empty chocolate bars inside the drawers when we arrived and the linen was not prepared, so we had to put the pillow cases and duvet covers on ourselves. There were quite a few of fly's in the flat even if we closed the windows with AC on. I believe that it was because the windows near the kitchen are facing the back of the building, and some of the windows wont close properly because they have cables running from outside through the gap in the window. The flat is spacious for HK standard with all necessary equipment. Although one of the rooms is quite small.
We cannot recommend this appartment!!!
Before leaving we had a hard time reaching the host. We didn’t get the information we were promised, and only received it 4 days before arrival, and only because I wrote him and asked for it.
We arrived in the afternoon on Monday 26th of November 2012. The apartment was very dirty! It was obvious that somebody usually lives in the apartment, and that that person had left the place in a hurry. The floors were very dirty, there were dirty dishes in the kitchen, the fridge had food and waterbottles in it, and the bathroom floor was filled with water and dirt. It’s not fun to arrive in the evening (with a 3 year old) and have to clean the place. There was no place our daughter could play because of the filth. There was small flies in the apartment – probably from a very dirty floor mop in the kitchen. The table in the living room was very sticky and when we cleaned it, the cloth was almost black!
In the add for the apartment, we were promised that there would be a washingmashine. There was, but the front door didn’t open and therefore we couldn’t use it. Therefore we had to send our clothes to the cleaners, which was pretty expensive.
The add also promised, that there would be towels. I wrote the host about that, but didn’t hear from him til 2 days later when we were sitting in the airport. He wrote that we best bring our own towels. That meant we had to go buy new towels upon arrival. The towels in the apartment were filthy and were tossed into a dirty cabinet in the bathroom.
We had to sleep in the sheets and blankets provided for us, but we seriously doubt that these were washed before our arrival.
Another big disturbance was the noise surrounding the apartment. That was not the host’s fault, but I think that rending an apartment without given knowledge about the noise is very wrong! The upstairs neighbor was redoing his apartment and the building next door was a construction site! There was constant drilling and banging and it made it hard for us to stay in the apartment.
When we returned home we contacted the host and he agreed on returning HKDollars 800 to us, because the appartment was not clean and the washingmashine did not work.
This flat is big enough (for Hong Kong) and near the metro station, but there was dirty there, smelling very moldy, the bedstaff is not washing and dirty, no towels.
Good location. Close to MTR station. Basic hygiene supplies provided . Host accommodates late check-in. Poor TV reception. Internet Only available 50 percent of the time. Cleanliness not bad and can be better. A lot of stair climbing- not good for senior.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It is perfectly located, with easy access to all of Hong Kong, and an MTR station, and bus station only a minutes walk away. Shops and supermarkets are very close too which is a great help.
There are unfortunately some issues with the apartment. As stated by others on here the decorating overall is in need of a bit of care. Re-plastering and painting would make a huge difference to the overall place as it was a bit rough in a few areas.
Although the listing mentions a TV, it did not work at all during our stay. No signal received at all. The broadband internet only worked for 3 out of 14 days during our stay. This was a huge let down as we relied on the internet to plan our holiday and find out local things to see. After emailing the host regarding the internet, I was told staff would fix it. It wasn't fixed throughout our stay.
The washing machine had certainly seen better days. Our second day was spent frantically trying to open the washing machine door which seemed to be missing it's handle. Luckily, either the previous guests, or the host, had left a pair of pliers and a hacksaw to gain access into the washing machine!
These are obviously known problems and I would of like them to have been sorted before our stay. If we had known there would be no TV, and no internet, we certainly wouldn't of stayed here.
Also, on our leaving day, while making sure we'd packed everything, we came across a mouldy pizza box under one of the desks. Not sure how much of my fee was allocated for cleaning the apartment before we arrived - but obviously not enough!
Overall, for us, it was ok. We enjoyed our stay and managed to get by with these few problems. I think the host needs to spend a week or so giving this apartment some care and work and it could be a fantastic place to stay again.
If you're not too fussy about decor, or reliable internet then this apartment is very well priced for the area.
Apt very conveniently place close to supermarkets eateries, supermarkets and the MRT.
The apartment itself suited our needs and we did enjoy our stay. Yes the stairs are steep but the locals have to use them as well so not a real problem.
The apt itself was reasonably clean but there were some spots misssed, could really use a thorough clean, but not a major problem. Plaster in one bedroom needs some attention and the place could do with a good paint job. The TV and stove did not work. TV no problem. Stove would have been useful a couple of times. WI-FI worked very well.Would love to get hold of the place for a little TLC. On the whole a good stay and would recomend it if your are not to fussy.
You will be refunded half of the total price minus the Wimdu cancellation fee if you cancel the booking at least 7 days before check-in (by 12 noon, local time).
