Fantastic Apartment in Hong Kong

we lived in the apartment for 3 weeks, at first with 4 later on with 2 persons. Everything was ok. No luxery but comfortable. It ist a bit dark, as in the living room and in One of the bedrooms are no windows . In the first days it was a bit smelly but the airconditioning was working so this problem was solved soon. As the apartment is close to the next MTR station we were really well conected. You have a small grocery and bakery around the corner so you must not starve.

Depressing: old building, no light, and rather tired flat which would need new painting!. Very small rooms (one particularly), and bathroom not equipped for 6 persons.. Not a place where I stay again. On the other hand Andy is very efficient and the taxi he proposes is perfect;

Just returned from a 10 day stay in this apartment. Taxi pickup was smooth and meeting with Andy efficient in showing us around. Good: beds comfortable, v good location, friendly people in rest of block, easy use of wifi, good bar and pizza place at end of road. Bad: this is a very very basic apartment. If you only want to sleep there it is adequate. I did not want to cook in the kitchen which was grubby, as was the shower. Also, take ear plugs as you can hear the neighbours as they get ready for work early each morning. There were 3 of us. Anymore would be too tight in such a small place.

No show on first night. Can you imagine how frustrated we were at 10pm and trying to figure our where we were going to stay in the next 2 hours? I called David (property manager/friend who supposed to meet us) on our way from the airport to the apartment. I told him I would be there in 30 minutes and the call was cut off (after I communicated that I would arrive in 30 minutes). After we arrived, I called a million more times but I got a message that "the call cannot be completed temporarily". So I called Andy, the host. He didn't answer. We went up right outside the unit on the 7th floor. We were able to connect to his wifi. I emailed Andy. I called wimdu which only advice was to find accommodation on your own. For us, it was easier because my sister lives in Hong Kong. So the 4 of us took a cab to her place and spent the night in her living room. By the time we got to her place, Andy called back. It was 1am already. He was out of the country and just happened to check his email. He said David told him his phone just went dead. That was absolutely inexcusable! Andy said he could send his maid to open the door for us. But fearing another stoodup, I told him we would work something out the next day. The next day, Andy agreed to send a van to pick up us on his tab. David finally checked us in 1 day late. I would suggest Andy to hire more reliable manager when he is absent. The best part of the stay was the location. It was conveniently located near everything. I don't need to elaborate as you can see in other reviews. The unit size was considered as spacious in Hong Kong standard. Decorations and furniture were basic. Hot shower only lasted 3 minutes tops at highest setting. Next person needs to wait about 10-15 minutes before the boiler is "ready" again. Lacking hot water in bathroom sink, heater, and dryer are standard issues in Hong Kong apartments. If you happen to visit Hong Kong during the cold days, it could be uncomfortable. But that is probably only 10-20 days out of the year.

The check in arrangements worked well. We found the flat comfortable and as shown in the photos on the website. The shower has been improved (see earlier guest comments about it being small) and is now a large walk in shower. The fittings and furnishings are basic, but everything we needed was present. The beds were comfortable and we slept well after our days out in Hong Kong. The flat is conveniently located near MTR and other transport.

After a very tiring day, it was such a big relief that we can rest in a very comfortable and peaceful place.. Even though we only had a very short stay in Hong Kong, we enjoyed every minute of it. Also, we did not have a hard time looking for places especially since the condo is near the MTR station which maximized our time and enabled us to see a lot of places. I hope we can visit Hong Kong again in the future and we would definitely stay again at Andy's place.. :))

This apartment in Causeway Bay suited our needs perfectly when four of stayed there for a week in July. There was ample space, and while the furniture and equipment is not brand new, instructions were clear and everything worked without giving any problems. The location is great, in a quiet street but close to shops and transport. We recommend it highly to other visitors.

This apartment provided all that we hoped for. I and two other friends stayed for four nights in July and had a blast. Andy was a true gentleman and a scholar. What a great host! He is understanding and reasonable, but also a very interesting person with a lot of awesome experiences, if you’re lucky he might tell some of them. The rooms are small, but if you’re planning to be out enjoying HK then that really doesn't matter as they are fine for sleeping in. Living room is a decent size and the kitchen had the basic necessities. At the great price provided it really is a steal. The neighborhood was absolutely fantastic with great local charm and the friendliest residents that tolerated our outgoing American personalities and daily antics (total group of eight crazy Sailors), haha! There is the neatest Cafe' catty-corner to the apartment, as well as a great pizzeria and a frozen yogurt shop. We spent a lot of time at the local bar called "Brecht's". Can't say enough about Brecht's, the atmosphere and staff are excellent, quite the local pub with Hoegaarden and Stella on tap. There are local markets and eateries, but interestingly if you walk just two blocks away, the area transforms into a bustling city with high end shopping and people everywhere. However you are safely enclosed in the charming neighborhood of Haven Street whenever you want to "go back home".

We found the location of the unit to be ideal. It's close to shops and transport and there are several places to eat nearby. The unit itself is basic and very HK in that it's compact, but all needs were met. The beds were very firm and the shower was quite small (about 60cmx60cm) but served their purpose. It was good to have kitchen facilities as we didn't feel the need to eat out all the time. The WiFi was a bonus and made our technology needs easy to manage. Our host Andy was fabulous. He was very helpful not only in preparation for our trip, but very generous in helping us when we arrived and throughout our visit. We did take advantage of the Van service to and from the airport and found this more than satisfactory. It was reasonably priced for the 4 of us, particularly when our flight arrived late in the evening and took us right to the door. When we return to HK we will certainly consider rebooking here.
