We call us NoSmokeNearZurich because we really only want to host nonsmokers. Some guests went for a walk well away from the house whenever they had to smoke, and that was ok for us.

In our house in Maur near Zürich we have two guestrooms for travellers. Our old house is very basic and worn out. There are some steep stairs that may be a problem for heavy people. We all share the same bathroom, and nobody smokes inside.
The house is not suitable for everybodys taste, but many artists and creative people have felt quite well here during their stay with us. If you are coming with an expensive car, then it is almost sure that you won't like it at our place.
Maur is still a farming village, 35 minutes by tram and bus from the main train station of Zurich (12km east, at a lake opposite of Uster)
Local attractions
- pretty village with 4 restaurants and small castle of XII century
- 5 minute walk through the fields to the lake, or 4 hours around it
- free Internet access at PC in room and open wireless (if it works)
- bicycles that need to be repaired first
