Almost all the touristic sites are at a walking distance. We are in the New Gay area and very close to the old gay area "Le Marais" 5 10 min walk).
The 5 subway lines, the 6 bus lines + the free service of Bicycles (1.70€ / day or 5€ / 7 days) allows very fast travels into Paris. Subways stations République (Lines 3, 5, 8, 9 et 11) at 6 minutes / 200m, Parmentier (Line3) at 3 minutes / 150m and Goncourt (Line11) at 2 minutes / 100m are very close, as the Buses 20, 46, 65, 56, 75 et 96.
The area is very nice (a lot of shops and restaurants) and safe, you can walk 24h without any problem.
Secure parking is available in the same street (5 min walk) if you need it.
