We are a multicultural Christian family and we welcome guests regularly from all over the world. The kitchen and living room are communal areas, with sofas, TV and dining table; as well as secluded back garden. A light breakfast is provided each morning.
Please note that due to Severe allergies in the family, there are NO Stove cooking facilities for guests!! However, there is a multi-function microwave, kettle, fridge space, toaster, tea/coffee, facilities available for you.
The local area has supermarkets, takeaways, restaurants, pharmacies and other conveniences. Cameron Toll Shopping centre is a 15-minute walk away.
There is a bus stop right across the street, with regular services running directly into the centre of Edinburgh. Further out of the city, there are several golf courses and beautiful forested areas to explore.
There is also a supermarket (ALDI) directly opposite the house. There are also other local amenities close by and a golf course and pub within 5 minutes walk.
We constantly use the proceeds from our homestay to support our charitable work saving lives of women and children around the world.

FROM EDINBURGH AIRPORT:
From right outside the main entrance of the airport, you can take the airport shuttle bus called the AIRLINK 100 to Edinburgh City.
The Airlink 100 will take you to Edinburgh Waverley train station (Waverley Bridge). When you get off, walk up to the top of the street and you will be on Princes street.
Turn right and walk all the way straight down to the end of that road. You will pass the Balmoral Hotel (which will be on your right) and then arrive at a crossing with traffic lights. Cross the road at the lights and turn right and walk UP the bridge to the second bus stop in the centre of the bridge.
Wait there for a bus number 3 or 29 or 8 (if you are arriving after 11:30pm in the evening, wait for a NIGHT BUS - N3) to Gilmerton. Tell the driver you need to get off at the ALDI supermarket (after Liberton High School) on Gilmerton Road. When you get off the bus, on your left will be AVW MOTORS, cross the small road in front of you and we are the first house on the corner with black gate and green door. We are on the main road, directly opposite the ALDI supermarket. It will take approx 20 mins from the city.
FROM WAVERLEY TRAIN STATION:
Come out of Waverley station via the Waverley Steps Exit. At the top of the escalator you will be on the main road (Princes street), turn right and walk all the way straight down to the end of the road. Cross the road at the lights and turn right and walk UP the bridge to the second bus stop in the centre of the bridge.

einfach zu finden, sauber, freundliches Personal, Anbindung mit dem Stadtbus ins Zentrum sehr einfach und rund um die Uhr, Parkplatz
all black people, very friendly, the rooms have thin walls - very noisy, very simply, a lot of rules
Titolare molto cordiale e disponibile...
Il posto carino ed ordinato ma il rapporto qualità / prezzo non è buono...
Our stay in Edinburgh was very nice. We rented a family room from Jannet, which was a different one, not the Zion room, however still very nice, tidy en suite. We had everything we needed, which is not easy when one has to fit the interests of a six years old and the needs of an eight months old... Apart from our room we also had access to the living/dining room, shared with other guests of the house. We were also provided breakfast, light continental as stated in the description, and could use the fridge to store food of our own. There are several supermarkets at 10-15min walking distance, and a bakery somewhat nearer. The city centre is about 15-20min by bus, which was a plus for our 6yr old :). All in all, we felt welcome and had a good time, thank you Areeva and Sophie!
A warm welcome and a great and clear explanation of all I needed to know about the house and the city it's all I get when I came first in this clean and pretty house.
I have been 10 days in this house and I felt like home away from home.
I surely want to suggest everyone to make this choice!
Great accommodation, amazing people, perfect connections to the city center.
This is simply perfect!
We had such a great stay at the Christian home stay, they are such a lovely family and are very hospitable. Free breakfast was great and It was an easy bus ride to the royal mile (city centre). Would definitely recommend staying here especially at such a good price.
We stayed three nights at Jannets place. The host family is very friendly and hospitable. A free breakfast was served from 8:00 to 8:45, other meals were available for a small contribution. The room was quiet and comfotable - good for the price.
Just in front of the doorstep is a busstop - nearly every 5 minutes a bus to the city center departed (about 15 minutes jurney, the dayticket is 3.50 pounds).
Hi Janet, we enjoyed staying at your home. Everyone was so friendly, hope to see you again. Greetings Nicole and Enrico
