The building is residential, like a family building so you will feel at home. It has one bedroom with a double comfortable bed and a futon-sofa at the living room. So the place could acommodate four people, although the rate displayed here is for two. Additional extra fee per night for the 3rd and 4th person.
The place is well decorated and the building is from the 1938, but renovated recently. It has cable TV, cable/wi-fi internet, air conditionated, ceiling fan, all kitchen gear (fridge, stove, oven, toaster, pots & pans, utensils), a mini stereo, DVD player and some DVD movies.
The owner is brazilian and speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese and will help you with what to do in town.
Flamengo is a traditional neighborhood of Rio. It is the Portuguese word for Flemish, and it was given to the nearby beach (Praia do Flamengo, Beach of the Flemish) because it was the place where the Dutch sailor Olivier van Noort tried to invade the city in 1599. At that time, the Dutchmen were called "Flemish" by the portuguese. It is located between Catete and Botafogo districts on the edge of Guanabara Bay. The beachfront area is dominated by the Brigadier Eduardo Gomes Park, built by Lota de Macedo Soares on nearly 300 acres (1.2 km²) of land reclaimed from the bay and completed in 1965. The park features gardens designed by well-known Brazilian landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx and it's great for doing outdoor exercise. The district and surroundings are serviced by three subway stations: Flamengo, Largo do Machado and Catete, and many bus lines that link it to the rest of the city. It is fairly close to the city centre and offers excellent views of Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf Mountain) and the statue of Christ the Redeemer.
Nowadays, it is mostly a middle-class residential neighborhood. Its main streets are Senador Vergueiro, Marquês de Abrantes, Praia do Flamengo, Paissandu and Infante Dom Henrique Avenue, which links the centre to the southern zone of the city.
For those wanting to have a home feeling in Rio, this is the place for you.
Please , before you booking , send me a message to be sure the apartment is available, and tell me about you. Thanks.
