One minute walk from tram and bus stop(s), the beautiful Vondelpark, a big gym with a swimming pool (David Lloyd).
There are many grocery shops and very nice restaurants on the same street. 5 min on tram takes you to entertainment area - Leidseplein (bars, cafes, coffee shops, Pathe City cinema, casinos, etc) or personally I prefer to cycle everywhere which is quicker than public transport and a must in Amsterdam!
Tram 1 takes 7 min to get to train stop Lelylaan, from where the Schiphol airport is reachable in another 7 min. I fly very regularly and can tell you it is very very easy to get to the airport (and cheaper than taxi's!).
Highway (Ring, A10) is 5 min away on car which gets you to anywhere in Europe.
This is perfect for professional couple or someone who wants to stay somewhere with a little style that gives you a feeling for Dutch life rather than a stuffy hotel.
Ideally for 2 people although there is room for a double airbed ( I have available) in the second room.
