The famous beer hall on Platzl in the old town is well attended throughout the year. Not far from there is the Viktualienmarkt, one of the places where the locals like to hang out. Munich's stalwarts meet here in the beer garden for the morning pint and the chefs of the gourmet restaurants buys his ingredients in the market stalls.
The apartment is comfortable and is situated in a prime location, especially for visitors of the Oktoberfest. 200 years ago, Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria married Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen and invited the nobles and the common people to the festival. The highlight was a horse race on the Theresienwiese, which was named after the bride. This was the birth of the Oktoberfest, as the Oktoberfest is known by the locals. Since that first celebration, the festival has gained popularity and is still the world's largest folk festival. Visitors come from all over the world to enjoy this traditional Bavarian feeling.
