An excellent room at a very reasonable price. The host was very helpful when it came to moving about town. If I ever go back to Singapore, Rose is who I'll get in touch with. Thanks for a great place!

We chose this room and booked it over a room we found on craigslist despite having to pay extra for a booking fee because we felt safer that Wimdu verified the room, services, and the host itself. This is the basis of the entire business model of Wimdu. However, we were given a completely different room and when we asked to be brought to the one described in the website as we booked it, we were told that that room has not been available for rent for a long time as she has transferred to a different location. The room we were given was not a spare room. It was one of many rooms in an empty condominium building that was converted into a mini hotel by Rose Cao and her friend, Amanda. In fact, it was difficult for me to talk to Rose as she was not around and when I asked to meet her to talk about the room arrangements, she referred me to Amanda. It was clear to me that Rose and Amanda had their own business mini hotel business here, which is actually illegal in Singapore. In fact, during our stay, Amanda casually mentioned that at 10am the next day, a government officer will come to the condominium unit to check the occupants. She assured me that since we were tourists, we should not worry, but my instincts told me it was better we leave the premises. True enough, earlier that morning, Amanda and Rose showed up and asked the other tenant (rented out the living room-converted-into-a-bedroom-with-an-accordion-wall) to move his things to another room and for him to go down to the swimming pool for an hour or two until the government official left. They promised to send him an SMS once it was safe to go back into his "room". What horror! Further, as mentioned, the empty condomium room originally had three bedrooms only. On one of the nights, however, a bunch of people came with Amanda to create walls and do some construction as they turned the entire unit into a mini hotel with 7 rooms (yes, 7!) And my boyfriend is asthmatic. I brought this up with Amanda and she made sure to finish the construction overnight and asked me to stop complaining as it hurts her feelings. Seriously? They managed to create and rent out rooms that were originally the living room, dining area, closet, and some other space. They even put room numbers on our doors (I noticed these were removed when the government official came to check) Therefore, we had to share the bathroom with 5 other rooms which is not what we were expecting. There was only one elevator working in the building and we found ourselves using the stairs up and down our 7th floor room, more than once. No problem if you have no luggage or you're not coming from a long day of walking. The only good thing about our stay is the location as it was about a five minute walk to Macpherson MRT and the internet connection. I will never book with Rose Cao or with Wimdu in general. Shame on Wimdu to say the rooms are verified, but obviously they do not check the postings on their own website. Shame.

The room is not spacious or modern at all! It's a very run down condo. We had to share the very dirty bathroom (1 toilet and 1 shower) with 6 other tenants! The pictures of the advertisement were fake (scam). None of the rooms in the condo were the one seen in the pictures, We never met our host Ms. Cao and she was very lax in responding to our mails before our arrival.

Very dirty apartments ... Pool green with algae and unusable. Only for very hard-nosed fellow.

This room was pleasing. Although it was not as close to everything I wanted it was only a few bus stops away. Overall I am pleased with the room itself and my stay in Singapore!

good location, plenty of restraunts and convenience shops nearby. also a coke machine outside which was handy. GREAT POOL. finding a taxi from the main road was easy. the lift was helpful for carrying heavy bags. room was ok, clean, but no services of any kind were provided, no toilet paper, no hand soap, no tv. bathroom was ok but a bit grubby. did not even know where to find our host. she barely had time to talk to us between talking on the phone. recommend only because of the reasonable price.
