Amazingly cozy flat in Manhattan

We had a great time staying at Ellens place. We got a lot of good advices about shopping areas, resturant etc. We were told to feel at home and we did, for exampel putting things in the fridge and come and go as we did at nights. Only negative was the noise from the traffic (subway) at the bridge, though earplugs solved it. We would definitely stay there again.

Staying with Ellen was great. The apartment is lovely and she is a great hostess. We struck up a really nice friendship as soon as we arrived over a good NZ red. Thanks so much Ellen for our great holiday

Ellen is a very friendly, from the very beginning has been very kind to me and my brother explaining how to get the meter and use the resources. The house is not far from the metro station so we had a great time :) We offered her kitchen if we wanted to eat at home and is always on when we asked her advice. Experience to repeat :)

The time when we liked Ellen. The apartment was clean and tidy. Ellen gave us on the first day and declared the area exactly given us a self-drawn map, so we can better orientation. She was very helpful and has always tried to ensure that we are well. Morning Ellen has cooked a delicious coffee for us. So we could start the day fresh. The connections of Ellen in the city was very good. 10 minutes to the subway and then only a few stops from the center. On our next visit to New York we would be delighted to be able to sleep again at Ellen.

The time in New York was awesome - and Ellen made it even better! We spent only 4 short days in town and had to use it in the best possible way. The location of Ellen's flat was a great help to that since the Broadway as well as the West Village and Soho is only 15 minutes walk. In addition, Ellen gave us great hints to go to other places, using the best possible solutions of public transportation. But not only these hints and tricks were the reason why we enjoyed our stay that much. Ellen herself was the the main reason! We enjoyed the discussions with her and appreciated the warm welcome she gave us. She made us feel like "real New Yorkers" for a few days, having our own shared-appartment in that beautiful city. Ellen was very relaxed during our stay so there were no awkward situations at all! We really did feel like home and are sure that the next NYC experience will be with Ellen again!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Ellen's flat. Already the first coming in felt like coming home. Ellen is a real warm-hearted and funny person. Whenever we needed her help, she did anything to make us feel comfortable, including how to make the best pancakes ever!!! Very close to her flat there are a few really nice bars to go out. The way to SoHo goes through chinatown and Little italy and takes about a 20 minutes walk. So, to sum up: if you want to meet a really nice person in New York and a homecoming feeling during your holidays, you should absolutely stay at Ellen's place. Can't wait to come back again...

Apartment for Ellen is very centrally located in Manhattan. Close to subway and bus runs off right up to 14.street. The room is large and the double bed comfortable to be in. Ellen is a very hospitable, generous and relaxed host. Very nice to share a bottle of wine with the evening. She is service minded and happy to book tickets. First we got a chock when we arrived at the flat. We thought we had rented the whole flat for ourselves, not a room in a flat. We however decided to stay and then found out Ellen is a really nice person, and if you are OK with sharing a flat with somebody Ellen should be your choice. We did stay during the Sandy hurricane without power, internet, functioning mobile phones, no heat etc. for almost a week. But we shared this experience with all of lower Manhatten (from 40 th street and south) Together with Ellen we did survive well, helping out to find food, and other supplies. The appartment is nice. However the bridge is just outside the windows so if you have problems with noice at nights do not forget to buy earplugs. With them we slept well.

We spend 3 nights to Ellen's place. As we were very busy to run around NYC, we did not see a lot Ellen but each time we crossed her, she was very nice and she gives us a lot of advices, etc. The room is perfect, the appartement too. The only negative point may be the noise outside : we hear the traffic on the Williamsburg Bridge... But as we were tired of our day, this was not a big problem to sleep! Thanks a lot to our host! do not hesitate to book her room!!
