This is the SoBro Guest House Located in the South Bronx aka SoBro, New York, a hustling & bustling trendy and hip neighborhood. Just search SoBro Bronx, NY and you will see what the area has to offer. We are walking distance (1 Block) to the Antique District which boasts an assortment of Cafes, Lounges, Bars, Art Galleries and Antique shops. Alexander's Bar on Alexander Ave, The Piano Factory, Bruckner Bar and Grill, DJ EMBE just to name a few.

You can walk to Manhattan over the Willis Ave Bridge which is located on the corner. Or jump on the # 6 Train and you are only one stop away from the City of NY! The # 6 train is located approximately 4 blocks away or a 5 minute walk. Yankee Stadium is about a half hour walk or 10 minute train ride. And if you don't feel like going to NYC you have lots of shopping right here in the neighborhood. The Guest House is easily accessible from JFK, Newark, and La Guardia Airports via the Metro so you do not have to waste money on taking a taxi.

I would advise that only the adventurous and more open minded stay here. We are ideally located very close to Manhattan. Literally a 5 minute walk over the Willis Avenue Bridge and only 1 stop away via the underground. The neighborhood is eclectic and vibrant and once you step outside the Guest House your neighbors will be real New Yorker's, not tourists. This may be enticing to some but scary to others, so take it for what its worth.

The building itself is very safe and secure. Ray lives on premise and can deal with any issues should they arise. The studio is private with your own lock and key. Fresh bed linens and towels are provided. You have your own bathroom and kitchenette with mini fridge. We have long term international students and tourists staying with us from all over the world. The studio has a queen size bed and is located on the 2nd Floor of a renovated Mott Haven Brownstone.

ottimo come posizione e come mini appartamento. Gestore disponibile e gentile.

Very well taken care of cleaning the studio and this for me and my wife was very important. The location is good, because the SoBro Guest House is located six / seven minutes walk from the subway station and is even closer to a bus. You get everywhere ineresse of Manhattan in less than half an hour by public transport. Quiet and far enough away from the noise. An employee Greg resides in an apartment in the guest house. His name is Ray and is available to solve any problem that may arise. Solution that certainly recommend and would use again if we return to New York.

We had booked a studio for two weeks. Everything was neat and clean. The room is big enough for a longer stay. Kitchen and bathroom are sufficient.
If you switch from the No.6-train to the No. 4-express-train at 125th street station, you can reach Grand Central Station within 20 minutes. Five minute walk to the Metro station included.
You can't get anything closer than this for such a fair price. We have been to NY before and had to travel between one hour and an hour and half to get from our hotels to Manhatten, because every hotel closer was way to expensive.
But if you go there, take earplugs with you because the house is old and badly soundproofed. And the signal for TV is weak and the programm get's interrupted quit often. Other than that it is the perfect place to stay. So, if we come to NY again, we will certainly try to stay at Greg's again.

This rental was perfect for our four days visit to New York City!!! We can absolutely recommend that! It´s a very well-priced alternative to expensive hotels in this generally very very expensive city.
Greg was very helpful on the phone when we (and the taxi driver!) had some difficulties in finding the way from JFK to the guest house, but we made it – and at last it was not that complicated. Arriving at the house around 1 p.m. we met Ray who gave us the keys and showed us everything.
We found the room in an ordinary and clean condition – the queensize bed appeared on that first day very inviting to us as we hadn´t slept for about 48 hours... But we struggled through the rest of the day by satisfying our first hunger in a little Puerto Rican Restaurant two blocks away (sorry I don´t remember the name) with a huge choice of meat dishes served with rice – very good and also cheap. Everything you need is around – restaurants, shops, supermarkets.
Boosted from the warm meal we were ready to discover that also the metro station was only a few minutes walk away from the guesthouse. So our first expedition brought us directly to Brooklyn Bridge.
Back to the apartment we took a shower in the small but clean bathroom and had a quiet and well-earned 12-hours-sleep in that very comfortable and huge bed.
On the following three days we spent most of the time exploring NYC, visiting e.g. Rockefeller Center, Central Park by bike, Intrepid Sea Air and Space Museum, MoMA, Broadway, Times Square, and so on … (By the way, we were lucky holders of the New York Pass, which turned out to be very recommendable). So we actually didn´t cook at the appartment, but the kitchen seemed at least sufficiently equipped to us.
The guesthouse Wi-Fi helped us to plan our days and to stay in touch with friends and family.
We will definitely return to NYC and doubtlessly stay in the SoBro Guesthouse again!!!

This Studio is very nice, clean and quiet, since it is to the backyard, not to the street. The room is enough for two persons or even more. There are also basic stuffs in the kitchen like pans and dishes. It takes ca. 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro station.

I was with my boyfriend for a week at Greg. The apartment was very nice and very very clean. Moreover, it is very centrally located (about 5min.zu walk to the nearest metro station and from there you drive about 15 minutes directly into the city). Greg was always very friendly and was always asking when is always open. The apartment can be a friend forever. Would stay again at any time with Greg.
