Description
Description

Welcome to this modern, bright and spacious bedroom on the second floor of this Edwardian property. This accommodation could either be let as a single room with bathroom or, when booked with the second bedroom, to a group of 4 or max. 6 people (we have 2 extra fold up beds) with shared bathroom. Indicated prices are accommodation only.
This double bedroom is very bright, beautifully decorated, with 2 large windows and modern wooden floors. It has a double bed (1.40 x 2m) and a small fridge, kettle and toaster. There also is a TV with Sky channels. The travertine tiled bathroom has a bath and hand shower. Free Wifi and free parking. Female host (designer) with 2 kids (aged 13 and 16) speaking english, german, french and italian. We also have very friendly cats.
Interior designed property with open plan kitchen and garden which can be used on demand.
If you would like to book the rooms as B&B (additional charge of £10 payable directly to owner at the beginning of your stay) you can expect a continental breakfast with cereals, jams, honey etc. and a selection of meats and cheeses, eggs, french baguette and other breads. The breakfast table is in the kitchen with view onto the beautiful, large garden.
The neighbourhood is very quiet, no airplanes and no car noises.
You'll find several shops in 5 minutes walking distance - Budgens and Costcutter, also cafees, hairdressers and other small shops.
Tooting Common and Tooting Bec Lido, the largest outdoor swimming pool of London, are in 8 min. walking distance.
Tooting High Street has a phantastic selection of indian restaurants, take aways and lots of shops. You'll find more varied bars, pubs and restaurants around Balham Station (short bus ride with 249), including the famous 'The Bedford' with comedy, life music and dance classes. Balham Station is a tube and train station, connecting you to the rail transport system if required.
How to get here:
Closest airports are Heathrow and Gatwick, Stansted and Luton are much further away. Closest Tube (underground) Stations to me are Tooting Bec and Tooting Broadway on the Northern Line. To get to my house you can either book a cheap Mini Cab (private taxi) or use public transport. Heathrow is connected to the Underground, Gatwick has a train station (www.thetrainline.com) where you can take a train to Clapham Junction, then bus 319 to my house (exit bus at 'Athletics track'). From Luton or Stansted it is best to take a train to London Liverpool Street, then the Underground to Tooting Bec, then bus 319 or 249 to 'Athletics track - 3stops)
To get into the centre, there are several close by bus lines - G1 (1minute walking distance) takes you to Tooting Broadway (8min ride), busses 319 and 249 (5 minutes walking distance, 7-8 min frequency) take you to Tooting Bec (5min) or Balham, Clapham Junction (15min) and the beautiful Kings Road/Sloane Square in Chelsea (45min).

My place is unique because it is amazingly quiet and peaceful and everything is in easy reach.

We enjoyed a lovely stay in Susanne's home. The bedroom is spacious, bright and very clean and the bathroom next door is modern and fresh. The room is very well equipped with toaster, kettle, fridge, table cutlery and crockery so you can live quite independently- we enjoyed our breakfasts here before strolling around the lake on the Common which is at the end of the road. We will definitely return when visiting the area!

The room was perfect (high in the 2nd floor of an Edwardian home) very private and with everything you need in it. Very independent. Susanne trusted us from the moment we got there, she is a very private person and she'll give you space and is helpful with anything you need. Don't bother her -she has her own being, but is also very caring which is plus. Note that you need to be careful to close the shutters :) from the tilted window (we forgot this the first time and awoke from the sun, not knowing why, the room has absolute darkness if you close everything which is very good for an English home (room)), and that the bed is a little hard on your back (maybe something can be done for that). An exceptional room, and a lovely table to hang around. Bathroom is clean, and you can't get a better house to spend some peaceful time. Also 4 cats might greet you anytime when you go in, and there is a lovely lit aquarium going up the stairs. (That when a cat is walking there, is a lovely site to greet you.). Absolutely recommended room. Very easy to get to- move from. You will learn the ways of transportation in no time and is not tiring at all - the park is near you, and you can get some pretty sunsets with the whole sky in your vision. I had a wonderful time, and am glad to have met this area of London. The Northern Line (black line) can get you anywhere also.

Pleasant Family-Friendly Rooms
