This is for private use of the master bedroom (approx 18 x 14) in a 2 BR apt in the East Village which is perfect for a single or couple, who want to stay in a clean apartment and experience living in a great neighborhood in NYC. All while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are usually located in tourist trap areas. It's very clean and has things no hotel can offer, like the outdoor patio right outside the bedroom! The building also has a 24 hour doorman / security, gym, laundry room and killer roof deck with views of ALL NYC and bridges.
This posting is for private room in a shared apartment with myself (separate bedroom) and/or occasionally another traveler(s).. There is a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a hot plate to do a little light cooking/heating up food, along with utensils and table ware and glasses.
I'm the type to vacate the premises when guests are here and usually just come home to sleep or do some computer work. I work, play and stay on Long Island frequently.
If you're the physical type, there is a gym (free) for your use in the basement of the building as well as a laundry room (coin operated), vending machines and ATM as well.
The bathroom is shower, sink and toilet, very clean, shared with myself, when I'm around.
This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order in and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight). And these little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places. There are at least three 24/hr places to eat within 1 block. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has a doorman and an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Your "home away from home" will provide the NYC experience not soon forgotten: the spectacular panoramic view of NYC on the roof deck (elevator and outdoor furniture up there), a private outdoor patio with table and chairs, huge courtyard in middle of complex, about 100 restaurant/bars/cafes/shops within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) at the end of the block and an East River waterfront park about 4 streets/blocks to the east.
For an additional fees, I can serve as your personal tour guide (or recommend various other tour guides specific to certain areas of NYC as well as recommend the cool, not-in-the-guide-books places for nightlife or dinner.
ADDITIONAL INFO / CHARGES:
For stays of more than 7 nights, a small deposit will be required pending on length of requested stay and cleaning charge of $25 every 7 days (paid directly to house cleaner). I'm sorry, but single night bookings will not be accepted unless they are within 7 days of arrival.
The room is for a single person or couple ONLY, not for 3 people, sorry.
Cleaning charges: As long as there isn't any excessive cleaning that is necessary, there is no charge.
Linens: Clean when you arrive. If you wish to clean WHILE you are here, there is a laundry room in the basement to do yourself.
Towels: Clean. Used towels will be collected and washed every few days when needed.
Continental Breakfast: Included in price. Juice, Milk, Coffee, Tea, Bread or Bagels or Cereal.
Check In/Out: Flexible. If another guest is checking in on your check out day, you'll be required to be packed by 12 noon, but can leave your bags safely in my apartment as long as you wish, until you leave for airport at any time later that day or night.
