Reviews of this property
Nice house, clean and comfortable. If you don't mind a long walk, that's a place to stay,
As always, friendly, uncomplicated, relaxed and a clean accommodation. Thanks Sylwia!
The house was clean and it was comfortable inside, however the area had an unsafe feeling at night, unfortunately. Also there was no t.v. , which would have been nice in the evenings.
There is plenty of room to cook if need be as well.
Spacious room, airco working fine, kitchen pretty well equiped. Location relatively close to light rail (appr. 10 minutes walking), although it takes more than 30 min. to get to Manhattan is you take lightrail and PATH.
Neighbourhood seems a bit poor at the first sight, but we never had any trouble and never felt unsafe.
The lock of our room was broken, after phoning with Sylwia, she sent someone to fix it and afterwards, it worked fine.
I sent a mail weeks before, to ask about information on the keys and time of arrival. A bit unhandy was the fact that I only got that information some hours before getting there, by mail. As a tourist, I do not always have the option of being online when I'm abroad.
All in all, I think it is a good price you pay for the location and room.
Reviews for this host's other properties
I really enjoyed my stay. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean (might be a little bit noisy due to wooden floor above). Mornings you can have a walk (ca. 30min.) to nearest PATH station or just take a bus. I recommend to take Uber from Exchange Place PATH station (7usd) while coming back at night as neighborhood does not feel super safe after dusk. However I must highlight it that when it comes to price/quality ratio I give a very good note.
it was very excellent
Staying in the house was a great experience. The rooms were stocked with everything you might need.
Getting to Manhattan was quite easy once I had learned about the transportation opportunities from my host, and the area itself is very quiet and friendly.
I will recommend staying here for anyone visiting New Jersey and New York.
Where to start first . This place is very interesting in many ways but not in a possitive way. Yes , the place is close to Manhattan but paradoxically pretty difficult to get there . If you want to get there by public transportation , you need to change 3 times. From subway to path train and to lightrail or bus. Or you can also use the taxi (from Grove street it is around 7dollars + tips) In general if you want to get to the city it will cost you more than 50 min of travelling with public transportation. Area of this flat is as someone mentioned before veeeery sketchy even dangerous( after dark I will not recommend use of a public transportation to get to your address of staying , definitely taxi! ) We were even speaking to police officer who was paradoxically in charge of that district (Jersey city) and he warned us about this area, because of the drug violence – he literaly said this! We experienced some difficulties with the room also. There was a gap between the AC and window, therefore the second night came a little visitor(mouse). The gap was fixed just with the stiff paper. We cannot imagine how this room works in winter time, because it was relatively cold there. When we came into the appartment, there were no soap to wash hands with. We didn´t have any instructions, even the basics, how to get to appartment and so... Be aware of the american locks, mainly in this room, because you can easily get stuck in front of the room meanwhile your keys are inside of the room. Locks works here very differently from EU ones, so we recommend to take your keys with you even within the flat. When we were trying to contact Sylvia and discuss some matters about the appartment and surroundings, she promised she would come the next morning but she didn´t show up even contact us back. Consider your stay here.
