The Wimdu Scholarship programme is designed to recognize the skills that are fundamental to a successful marketing campaign in a fast-paced, global economy. A scholarship of $2000 will be provided bi-annually in September and February to assist two promising students interested in pursuing a career in business and marketing related fields. Since its launch in 2011 Wimdu GmbH has played an important role in disrupting the travel industry through innovative strategies and business marketing campaigns. Our company consists of a growing team of international business professionals and constantly thrives in harnessing a dynamic entrepreneurial and marketing spirit.

Who is eligible:

All entrants must be entering their final year of study in a degree connected to the fields of Marketing, Business Administration or Communications. All applications must be made from an associated* college/university email account and have attached proof from the college/university that confirms the applicant meets the set criteria. The award is open to all nationalities, provided they are enrolled at a US-based college or university.

How to apply:

Applicants are asked to supply to our judging panel with a 1500-2000 word synopsis of a Marketing campaign aimed at increasing the awareness of the Wimdu brand in the US. This entry can also be submitted in video or presentation form. The judges will select the most creative and compelling idea submitted. Applications for the next academic year will open at 9am on February 1, 2014 and close on 11.59pm September 30, 2014. The successful applicant will be announced on October 3, 2014.

Rules and Guidelines

  • All essays submitted should be written by the entrant and be clear of any plagiarism. Applications will be checked for any signs of duplication
  • Applicants must be able to prove they are due to start their final year on a Marketing, Business Administration or Communications focused course in September
  • Please make sure you submit your application from your college/university email account and it includes the following:
    • Copy of 1500-2000 word essay
    • Proof of student status for 2013-14 academic year.
    • Proof of enrolment onto final year of a Marketing/Communications/Business course. (In cases where enrolment is still to be confirmed please send confirmation of enrolment for the current year).
