Cartagena is a fascinating city with a long and fascinating history. Of particular note are the Roman theatre and the Cartagena Cathedral which are well preserved and restored which will give you the chance to imagine life many many years ago. The architecture in Cartagena is a lovely mix of Baroque, Neo-Classical and Art Nouveau Buildings. Look out the Baroque Church of Santa Maria de Gracia along with the stunning Art Nouveau architecture of the City Hall, the Grand Hotel and the Casino. There are a number of wonderful sculptures and museums around the town and in terms of beaches, Cartagena has the most of any Spanish city!
