You may also like to visit Cesme Castle in the town center and is right by the beautiful shore. This 16th century fortress was built to defend against pirate attacks and it is a fabulous place to explore. It also provides a wonderful vantage point for excellent views over Cesme so make sure you take your camera. A famous local dish you might like to try is Kumru which is a warm sandwich made with local bread, filled with grilled cheese, tomatoes, salami and Turkish sausage. A vegetarian option with green peppers is also offered.
