Exclusive Offer: £999 for 21 nights stay in February 2015. Message me for further details!

This relaxing Victorian flat offers exposed brick, fine art, antique bed, and stocked contemporary kitchen. Nestled above an art gallery in the charming gourmet enclave of Victoria Park Village, steps from buses and minutes from 2 tube stops.

THE RESIDENTIAL SUITE reigns supreme for romantic getaways, city breaks, business trips, and cultural cruising of the London art, music & fashion scenes. Enjoy fast easy access to Shoreditch, London Fields, Soho, Camden Town, the City, Canary Wharf, and so much more! The Residential Suite is unique in the fact that it is an 1860 built Victorian flat above an art gallery in an authentic village-style enclave of London called Victoria Park Village (London borough of Hackney). The Residential Suite is suitable for 1-4 people. There is 1 bed in the bedroom and 1 bed which pulls out from the sofa in the lounge (which has recently been upgraded with a luxury thick memory foam mattress).
Guests receive a welcome package upon arrival including fresh home-baked bread, butter, milk, apples, breakfast bars, tea, coffee, sparkling water, fresh flowers and a bottle of wine (or small bottle for 1 night stays).

The Residential Suite offers boutique hotel style essentials in your very own exclusive London pad. Here you can find a culturally rich, fashionable and authentic experience of life as a Londoner beside one of the capital's most popular parks (having recently undergone a £12 million revamp and won the People's Choice Award). Prize winning restaurants, traditional pubs, organic grocers, art galleries, English gardens, row boats, tennis courts, spa, swimming pools, beauty salons and stylish village shops are steps away. Victoria Park Village featured as "London's hidden gem" in the Feb. 2012 issue of Living Etc. Magazine and more recently in the Metro newspaper.

"One appeal of London for many visitors is the promise of a quaint neighbourhood, a place where the vague, romantic notion of the English market village merges with London's bustling energy. The thing is, many parts of London's West that might once have fulfilled such fantasies have become very expensive, mobbed with tourists...
Victoria Park Village, with its inarguable cuteness and many local, small-scale specialty shops, delivers the traditional neighbourhood goods."-Alex Robertson Texter, "Round-the-world: Victoria Park Village, London's most perfect retail cluster"

Unwind after a busy day of gallery hopping -

The Residential Suite is next door to award winning restaurants (British, Italian, French, Indian, Mediterranean, Vietnamese fusion, tapas, seafood, steak, vegetarian, organic and locally sourced). Guests of The Residential Suite enjoy 20% off food and 10% off drinks at local pub, The Lauriston, where they serve exceptional stone baked pizzas, fresh salads and deli platters. I particularly fancy the Baby Octopus pizza! They also have a great selection of wine, beer and spirits to compliment one of their fun evenings of karaoke, quiz nights and live dj sets.
Directly opposite the suite is "Amandine," a charming and delicious treat for "relaxed breakfasts, lazy lunches and tempting afternoon teas" - not to mention homemade cakes! Another favourite is "PAVILION," the park cafe with a stunning panoramic lake view, serving fresh organic full English breakfasts, salads, sandwiches and locally brewed beer! For dinner head to "Spit Jack's" a highly recommended tapas joint, "Su Sazzagoni" a superb traditional Sardinian restaurant or "The Empress" where head chef Elliott Lidstone brings over 12 years experience in Michelin starred kitchens to offer you modern British/European delights. The Fish House has the best fish n' chips in town to eat-in or take-away. These are just a few favourites from a list of many more!

BISTROTEQUE - Just a 10min. walk away, hidden down Wadeson Street, you'll discover one of London's most fashionable venues for dining and cocktails, popular amongst East London's exclusive It-crowd of fashion designers, performers, models, art dealers and beyond. But the main pull is the delicious food and fabulous cocktails with fine service in a buzzing upmarket-but-edgy warehouse atmosphere. The menu is French & British including fish n' chips, mussels, steak tartare, beetroot salad, British cheeses and more. Book a table in advance and arrive early for an espresso martini at the bar!

THE HEMINGWAY - Walk 5min. down Victoria Park Road to reach this classy pub decorated as an old gentlemen's club with an interesting selection of taxidermy and guns mounted on the wall, chesterfields and art deco ornaments. It's worth the visit for the bearded monkey head alone however this is a really great place to have dinner or just hang out for drinks. The menu features a posh selection of pub grub and the glistening copper bar offers a wide selection of spirits!

THE COCK TAVERN - Hop on the 277 bus toward Hackney Central (5min. ride) to savour a pint at this newly refurbished pub with its own micro brewery and impressive selection of independent UK hand-pulled beers and ciders. Atmosphere is casual and laid-back in smart traditional dark wood surround, with a bit of music to keep the energy flowing. Staff are warm and knowledgable about their drinks!

If you want a taste of authentic London away from the tourist traps, why not enjoy a day of visiting trendy markets or discovering the numerous contemporary art galleries dotted around? While Victoria Park VIllage has art and shops to check out right on your door-step, a short jaunt in any direction will lead you to enclaves of galleries such as Vyner Street and Bethnal Green, or hip market areas like Broadway Market, Spitalfields Market, and Colombia Road Flower Market. Also nearby are Historic Roman Road Market and flashy giant Westfield Shopping Centre (the largest in Europe). The newest development within walking distance is The Fashion Hub, designed by international architectural practice, Adjaye Associates. The project is currently under development and has already delivered temporary factory outlet shops occupied by Aquascutum, Pringle and Halcyon Days and the Hackney Shop where local designers have successfully been showcasing and selling their designs.

Nearby scenic Victoria Park is host to major music summer events and festivals (Field Day, Love Box) showcasing the likes of Grace Jones, Lana Del Ray, Roxy Music and more. For a more peaceful mood take a walk to discover charming canal boats, row boats for hire (just £10.50 during summer), tennis courts, imposing Victorian monuments, Chinese Pagoda and exquisite gardens. All of these attractions listed above are within walking distance.

East London is no stranger to the night. If you're in the mood for dancing all night, take the 277 bus to Dalston Junction. Here Kingsland Road is lined with bangin' clubs all the way from Shoreditch to Stoke Newington. Don't forget your ID and be prepared to queue!

AT HOME WITH THE LUDSKIS: Late Saturday nights historic art deco cinema The Rio (on Kingsland Road) opens its doors to a night of performance, film, experimentation, music, and more. Who knows what will happen!

Something more civilised? Get down to Hackney Central on the 277 bus to check out film screenings at Hackney Picture House (they also have a bar & restaurant) or a show at the Hackney Empire, an absolutely stunning ornate theatre designed by architectural master Frank Matcham at the turn of the 20th century.

If it's past closing time everywhere else and you still want to keep partying head to the last resort known as The Dolphin pub where Mare Street meets Well Street (15min. walk/ 4 min. bus on 277). This local dive stays open way past your bed time .. 4am at least. It's dodgy, mad, drunken, loud, but quite fun and definitely an East London institution. You never know who will walk in!

The Residence gallery director Ingrid Z is delighted to share her insider knowledge of the area and tips on experiencing the most out of East London’s thriving art, culture, music and social scene.

We enjoyed our stay at the suite of Ingrid. The apartment is located in a nice neighbourhood with good food stores and boutiques. The tube station Mile end is only a few steps from here.
The apartment is nicely done up so that we had an unforgetable christmas.
