On the pro-side: The apartment has an amazing view on the Bosporus. It is a pleasure to wake up and go to sleep to this sight. The wooden floors, high ceilings and brick walls are lovely. Martin and the World hostel staff are friendly hosts and always available for quesions. Breakfast in the hostel is alright and a good start into the day.

On the con-side: The staircase of the apartment is rather dodgy and makes you feel relieved when you can close the door behind you. The bathrooms, toilets and towles are just fine but rather suitable for young travelers who don't expect much. Since Istanbul is a noisy city and the walls are paper thin - bring earplugs if you want a good night's sleep.

All in all: Excellent for a short trip to Istanbul on a budget.

The apartment has a very good location and the room was clean. The breakfast at the hostel was good. The other residents were a bit noisy, but bearable. From the house from the outside and the stairwell must not be deterred you look. For young people really recommended.

We arrived around 24.00 clock in the hostel and the friendly young man tried our hosts to erreichen- unfortunately in vain. The room was not ready and there was an extra bed in it. It was thus really extremely England there has never been the enclosed 15 square meters. (But only in passing) The hallway and the condition of the house was amazing (bad) - I thought that the other reviews are exaggerating a little, but found to my horror that they were rather an understatement. The room was relatively clean-especially compared with the rest of the apartment- the bathroom was cleaned only once in 4 days. This really seems to me a little at the full occupancy of the apartment. (6-8 persons) There were two full bathrooms and two toilets. At least one toilet could be the toilet paper not in the right in the bathroom, but in a bucket next to it. The outlook has compensated for some and the friendly young man who took us to reception, there was a significant plus. This room is nothing, if you expect a certain standard, no matter how small. Perfect for young backpackers who appreciate a clean bed. Too bad that in front of our room, the smoking lounge mainte- nothing for sensitive noses Non smoking (not just the smoke was disturbing the conversations that you had to listen when some guests wanted at 2.00 clock in the morning to smoke the last cigarette. Breakfast was good and typically Turkish- the Nescafé we have a delicious cappuccino from the hotel's café replaced. The conversations with the backpackers were a definite plus. Overall, I can not give more than 2Point, I simply believe that we were not the right audience for this room.

Top location in the immediate vicinity of the Galata Tower, entertainment district and shopping mall within walking distance, Blue Mosque, etc. are also within walking distance (about 1 / 2-3 / 4 hours), or alternatively direct tram connection. Our room was generous in size, part of a "WG" with fellow travelers, beautiful, exposed brick walls, old tiles and wooden floor, beautiful view of the Golden Horn and the city from the seating area in the hall. The accommodation is simple, especially with the bathrooms. The run-down staircase might scare some, for us it was ok ... In the morning, breakfast is served at the nearby hostel. Nice atmosphere, nice reception, we have felt ourselves very well. Conclusion: we would stay there again. Thanks to this way again!

We were very pleased with our accommodations. The location is fantastic table, right by the vibrant Istanbul - always something going on and despite all quiet. From the room, the view is awesome. The breakfast is also very rich and delicious, the staff always nice and friendly.
Thank our Visitors Guide Istanbul thereby was a success!

A beautiful bright, old apartment, with an incredible charm. Our room allowed to have a view of the Bosphorus and the old town. Good morning or returning in the evening, it is always a pleasure. Of course there should not be too demanding, the windows are not double glazed, you can hear some nightlife but it's part of the discovery of a city! Spacious bathrooms, where it fails to clean up after what the toilet each and a bath mat. Breakfast to take to the home of the hotel, a few meters from the apartment: attention only from 9am! It is a pity when you want to get up early to visit the city not to have breakfast before leaving.

The accommodation was clean and well, the staircase alone a disaster I was afraid.

An exceptional view of the Bosphorus! The room on the 4th floor of a rather dilapidated being renovated is in a very good condition. The doors slam shut a little but the price associated with the view we have been able to forget the annoyances. Waking up with a view of the Blue Mosque and Topkapi is a marvel. Bedding, however, is not the most comfortable.

Spacious Double room, nice view.SPECIAL SUMMER RATE

The view from the window is stunning enough that I can recommend this stay. Also the location is great and the hostel staff friendly and helpful. The room was clean and even though you shouldn't expect luxury, everything is in good enough shape. More equipment for the shared kitchen would be a good idea. The stairway doesn't look good as others have stated, but it's not a real problem. Although choice for breakfast is not abundant, it's tasty (served in the hostel, which is a short distance away).
Several different rooms from this apartment can be found on wimdu. I got the 15m² one instead of the 25m² I booked, which wasn't a problem for me (in fact I didn't even realize it when I was there, so didn't ask about the reason), but confirming beforehand might be a good idea if you need the space.
Make sure you remember the entry of the house if you plan to come back late, because after the shutters are in front of the closed shops, the street looks quite different.
