Description
Description
My apartment is just a stone's throw from the historic center, 10 minutes from Piazza di Spagna, 5 minutes from the Colosseum.
The Monti district, the name of the area where the apartment is located, is considered one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city. It is the haunt of many artists, there are many laboratories, from painting to furniture to vintage clothing.
Many Roman trattorias, but also international restaurants, like the Indian, Japanese, and so on.

The apartment is equipped with all amenities (Wi-Fi Internet, dishes, linens, towels, stereo, microwave and espresso machine), is in a stable characteristic of the 30's and consists of kitchen, bathroom, 2 rooms completely renovated and furnished.

The apartment is well connected by 7 bus routes and close to both metro lines (line A and line B Manzoni stop Colosseo stop) is an excellent starting point to visit every historical and artistic beauty of the city.

For moments of relaxation, moving on foot, you can instead enjoy cocktails or discover numerous restaurants, pubs and bars in the neighborhood and mountains in summer, just 5 minutes, you can dive into a swimming pool set in lovely Roman ruins.

Now you have to do is book a plane ticket and come see me.

The apartment is beautiful, and full of character. We were cheerfully met by Madellena (the key holder) and handed the key, given an overview of the apartment and a present of some of her aunt’s jam, despite our having being delayed at the airport.
The area (Monti) is charming, quiet at night and vibrant during the day, plenty of locals, diverse shops and a great range of places to eat- Tratorria’s, Ristorante’s, and wine bars. Locally our favourites by far were La Carbonara (approximately ten doors along), Urbana 47 (a five minute walk), and Monti Bio (closer still, about 5 doors away).
The two sets of windows look out onto a picturesque cobbled street and neighbouring apartments, there are quirky touches in the furnishings everywhere (the décor had been changed since we’d initially viewed it on line, a little more muted, but still unique). Beautifully clean, and small touches such as coffee ready for use in the fridge, fruit, hairdryer, and a bottle of wine. Being British we felt the apartment could have used a kettle (for tea) but as we were in Rome coffee in the small Stove top coffee maker was the order of the day.
Both beds in the apartment are sofa beds, and the one set up for us to use (there were just two of us staying) as a bed was comfortable for the first four nights, if very noisy when one of us moved, longer than the seven days we stayed and it would probably be uncomfortable.
The area felt very safe, and perfect as a base for exploring Rome, The Forum extends to within a few hundred yards of the front door, and to reach the Colosseum a gentle stroll of a minute takes you to Via Dei Serpenti and a spectacular view of the Colosseum at the end of this beautiful street. We were able to walk everywhere, including to the Vatican (about two miles away) and the Park at Villa Borghese, and as there are so many cafes, and historic sights along the way it was not hard work. You need to watch out for the cobbles, and the crazy drivers but that’s just part of the fun.
We would happily recommend Valentina’s apartment to friends, and would certainly consider staying when we next visit Rome.

We went for a week to Rome and we were staying in the apartment of Valentine, close to the colloseo and Termini (Central station). A perfect place to stay. In the neighbourhood called Monti. A cosy neighbourhood with different restaurants and shops. We felt very safe and we were glad we stayed here. Such a nice neighbourhood. Also a positive thing. We walked everything. All the highlights were close to the apartment.
We could have cooked by ourselfs, close to the apartment there were two supermarkets. We choose to eat outside.
One of us slept in the 2-person bed and one of us on a sleepcouch. It was good! Maybe one little thing, on the couch there were itchy blankets, so maybe it's better to have an other kind. But that's not very important.

Maybe the interior is not my kind of thing, but the place was clean and very cosy! I very recommend this place! Perfect!

Some inconvenience on receipt of keys or other devices that do not work (washing machine, dishwasher and no microwave), but overall the apartment is properly kept.
It is rather for a childless couple, because there is no door separating the living room room and no table to eat just a glass coffee table. It is extremely well located in a quiet area in the heart of all that there is to see in Rome. It is perfect to visit for the weekend or for the week. We have not seen our host (unfortunately) but a bottle of spirits was introduced to us during our stay for the inconvenience.

Valentina met us at the apartment at the agreed time and with a broad smile. Communication with her has been very smooth, a very gracious host who was available to us if ever there was any downside.

As for the apartment than expected, spacious with everything you need to feel at home. The central yet quiet, with supermarket, restaurants and bars area.

The only downside of the apartment air conditioning, which was not able to cool enough for high temperatures of Rome in August.
