Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and it is the country's economic, cultural, and historical capital. The city's biggest attraction remains its historic center, partially listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but its cultural and entertainment hub can be found across the city's natural harbor, the Golden Horn, in the Beyoğlu district.
Formally called Constantinople, Istanbul was the capital of the Roman Empire and Europe's wealthiest metropolis, and is now the largest city in Turkey. Here you will find a fabulous city that spans Asia and Europe. In Istanbul you will see how old meets new when you visit the "must-see" historic sites such as the Blue Mosque , one of the most famous monuments in both the Turkish and Islamic worlds,
Hagia Sophia, now is a museum, but it was one of the largest basilicas in the Christian world, Underground Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Hippodrome and Obelisk and obviously historic Grand Bazaar, , in operation since 1461, is among the world's oldest and largest covered markets. Mahmutpasha Bazaar is an open-air market extending between the Grand Bazaar and the Egyptian Bazaar, which has been Istanbul's major spice market since 1660.

Reviews of this property
Guest house in Beyoglu was a good choice for staying in Istanbul. Tarik (the host) was very helpfull, we couldn't find the place on our own so he sent his friend to pick us up on Taksim square. The room was nicely decorated, clean and tidy, had everything we needed. Good value for the money. Downside of the location is very steep street up to the Taksim and unsafe looking neighborhood but the police station is very near the place. Overall, we were satisfied.
Very nice guesthouse in Beyoglu/Istanbul. Everything was well organized and Tarik was very kind and helpful. He gave me support and advices for the transfer from the airport to the guesthouse. The guesthouse has a simple but nice modern style. Everything is clean and in good state. The guesthouse was most frequented by younger persons, mostly students from abroad, backpackers or people like this so it's a friendly and unconventionell atmosphere there. The kitchen is always the center of social life in the guesthouse where you can talk with others and exchange experiences. The area of the guesthozuse isn't quite sophisticated. It's a part of the city where usally not the richest people of Istanbul living but it needs just a few minutes of walking to reach the Istiklal Caddesi in the center of Taksim. I wouldn't recommend the guesthouse for people who are senisitive of noise. Usually the acoustic level raises when the muezzin from the near mosque start to call the prayer when sunrise. With the begin of the daily rushhour and the school in the neighbourhood and their loud interval signal for the breaks the noise level raises more and more. All others will be quite happy there :-). I wouldn't recommend the guesthouse for travellers with luxury demands but anybody who is looking for place for sleeping and base to discover the town will have good time there.
It was all super.freundliches personal.nur the territory a little creepy ..
Es war alles super.freundliches personal.nur die gegend ein wenig gruselig..
My fiance and I had a great time in this place. The house manager, Alphan, was very kind and supportive. The room was exactly the same as what was shown in the Ad. Just bear in mind that the place is located in a local place and neighbours are very kind with you. The neighbourhood has an old theme and I was told that government is going to make it cleaner very soon. However, there is a taxi path to Taksim square, therefore, you have this chance not to commute through neighbourhood. Every Sunday, there is a great Bazar, so you have this chance to find different variety of foods and fruits with a very low price.
Hey, it was a very nice stay in the Guest House. The room were almost like a hotel room and the staff was very nice. The Guest House is close to Taksim and Istiklal Street (around 10-15 minutes walk up hill). The area around the Guest House isn't the best and a little bit scary during night and I wouldn't go alone there, particularly if you are a women, but during daytime it's okay. And at night you can take a taxi back home ;)
Reviews for this host's other properties
We had a wonderful stay in Istanbul! ! The apartment is really great, clean and ideally located ( next to tram and metro stations,grocery,coffee..)along the sea and close to everything. We could go everywhere on foot. Tarik was a very kind and great host! We'll definitely come back! :)I highly recommend Tarik and his apartment(s) to everybody!
Thank you Tarik!
As you can see in the pictures, this appartment is no luxury. Regarding the price it is ok in my opinion. The location is good, very close to the isticlal (5min walking) and Taksim square (7min walking).
The appartment was clean. Just the bed was not made, so we had to change the blankets ourselves. The balcony is nice, but only as long as the weather is stable because there is no roof. Remember to always take the balcony key with you. If the balcony door closes you are locked out on the 5th floor. Tarik really helped me in this funny situation. Next time, i would chose something more suitable -and pay a little more.
The apartment was clean, nice and well situated. The balkony was perfect. Tarik was nice and friendly and he kept all promises and what we agree.
thank you so much for everything tarik! we fell in love with your city... and the apartment was the best place to explore istambul ever.
My boyfriend and I stayed at Tarik's place one week. It was just great. The flat is perfectly located: to reach the Taksim movida you just need to cross the road (5 mins walking)/but it's also great as you are not in the middle of the caos.
In front of the apt there is a bus stop to go to Taksim metro station, but actually we always walked to reach the metro - it's really close.
Outside the building there is a late night shop (!) that was amazing as the flat has a big terrace w view and you can't miss to chill out a bit drinking a beer at home.
The flat was clean, we found everything there, we did not have any problem.
Tarik is a really nice guy, he can suggest good places for eating.
We really enjoyed over there
