This beautiful spacious houseboat reflects the feeling of ultimate luxury during a trip. Located on the Da Costakade in the bustling Old West, 5 minutes from the center. A few minutes walk from the famous Vondelpark and Amsterdam's museums at Museumplein, namely the recently reopened Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum. Leidseplein is within walking distance and offers plenty of options for (nightlife) entertainment.

This sunny, completely renovated houseboat (55 m2) has a classic yet modern look. The living room has a comfortable sofa with a flat screen TV with iPod speakers and a classic wicker chair. The open kitchen has enough features to make a good meal; it includes a dishwasher, oven and a Nespresso machine available for use. The bedroom contains a large double bed (160 x 200cm). A beautiful wooden floor runs through the entire houseboat, creating a rustic feel. The bathroom has a comfortable shower. There is central heating. On the terrace you can enjoy the canal and the passing boats; it is lovely to stay in Amsterdam.

Old West

Amsterdam Old West is a cozy neighborhood. Adjacent to the east side of the Vondelpark you will find an area with lots of nice furniture shops and more nice restaurants and caterers. The beautiful Helmersbuurt, the cozy streets of the Bellamy neighborhood and the Kinkerstraat with many shops are part of versatile Amsterdam Oud West. From here you can easily walk to many attractions including the Museumplein, Vondelpark and Leidseplein. By public transport you can easily reach the other parts of the city.

The Vondelpark is the largest city park in Amsterdam, and certainly the most famous park in the Netherlands, which welcomes about 10 million visitors every year. The Vondelpark is centrally located south of Leidseplein and near Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and Van Goghmuseum. The Vondelpark is loved by Amsterdammers as well as by tourists, and is full of people - enjoying a sunny day, dog-walking, jogging, roller-skating, listening to music, people-watching, or just lazing about in grass. Free concerts are given at the open-air theatre or in the summer at the park's bandstand. Other attractions are the statue of the poet Vondel, the cast iron music dome, the Groot Melkhuis with a playground for children, and the historical Pavilion with its restaurant Vertigo, a popular terrace opened in summertime. Theatre, dance performance and music is played during June, July and August. The open-air theater (Dutch: Open Lucht Theater) takes place in Vondelpark, near the entrance from Eeghenstraat. Admission is free, but some performances are so popular that we advise you to make an on-line reservation via their website.

Constructed on a muddy dump area, the Vondelpark has to go through the total renovation each 30 years. This is because the actual ground level of the park constantly lowers itself. If these works would not be done, the whole park would be covered by water. It is visible after heavy rains at the end of the period before the next renovation, when whole parts of the park become vast ponds. The water cannot be simply pumped out as this would lower the groundwater around the park and endanger the wooden foundations of the buildings nearby.
The park exists now for almost 150 years and has many old plane trees, horse chestnut, Dutch red chestnut, catalpas and different sorts of birch trees. Numerous bushes and herbs complete the park’s landscape. Vondelpark is also a home to many birds – wild ducks, blue herons and many smaller birds.

The park is sandwiched between two beautiful neighborhoods: the classic Helmersbuurt and the renowned Museum Quarter. The former area is characterized by the coziness of many boutiques and restaurants. It is great for an afternoon shopping. The museum district derived its name from the major museums in the district: the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and an ode to the largest Dutch painter, Van Gogh Museum. They are all to be found on the Museumplein, where you will find the majestic Concertgebouw across the street.

We just returned from a lovely weekend at the houseboat. A great place to have some peace and chill time but be close enough to walk to the action!

Beautiful houseboat with charm and great location near Jordanvirtel. Generously equipped for a long stay. Cosy small terrace with romantic lighting. One star deduction for small, old bathroom. Otherwise everything was great! Thank you!

A286 Artistic apartment near Artis Zoo

Wow, what can I say. We had the most amazing time staying in this Appartment. It was so beautiful and comfortable, like the name of it, it was very artistic.Everything was there for us. We walked round the Appartment for ages, just looking at all the artwork on the walls, which were amazing. Would highly recommend staying here. We would defiantly go back again and again.

Sehr netter Besitzer der Wohnung! Zentral gelegen! Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fußläufig gut zu erreichen und nette Cafés in der Nachbarschaft laden zum Verweilen und genießen ein.

A264 Amsterdam bed and breakfast on a houseboat including bikes

It was a great weekend on the boat, I would recommend it to everyone who wants to go to Amsterdam. 2 minutes away from the bus stop and then about 15 minutes to the city. The boat was clean and very comfortable.
