New York City is larger than life: in population, in square feet (think of the five boroughs), in culture and food, in arts and entertainment. Visitors to New York have the world at their fingertips, from Uptown to Downtown and beyond. There’s so much to do and see, no two visits will ever be quite the same.
Whether it’s your first visit to Gotham or your fifteenth, these top things to do in New York capture the energy, spirit and style of the city. You can not miss Central Park, that covers 843 acres (341 hectares) and is located in the heart of Manhattan.
Offering a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle of the city streets that surround it on all sides, the park is a refreshing year-round sanctuary. Visitors can walk, run, ride bicycles, play chess and checkers, ice skate, and even fish. Designated quiet zones accommodate those seeking tranquility, while the 21 playgrounds are a boon for families with children who need to move.
We have friendly dogs who like to meet new people too

It was great! We were very indipendent and Heather was a great host! The room is great.
I stayed in the Periwinkle room for two months this past summer, and it was a one of a kind experience. I can't speak more highly of the owners. Heather and Nick are kind, helpful, attentive, and cater to any need one could possibly imagine, even some outside of the normal purview of a landlord.
The room was beautiful, bed was comfortable, and the atmosphere was excellent. The house is two blocks from the subway with easy access to the rest of Brooklyn and Queens and a very reasonable commute into Manhattan.
The house has multiple other rooms, so one can engage with other boarders (though the walls are thick, so only when desired). The neighborhood has a deep Brooklyn sense of community and a diverse makeup, giving everything from the large houses to the people who live in them feel like a New York you didn't know existed.
My one complaint is the lack of air conditioning made the summer on the third floor a bit of a challenge, but you can't beat the price or the service, so it is definitely where I'll be staying next time I'm in town.
Heather and Nick were super friendly and helpful.
We enjoyed our time with you, thank you and would recommend the hotel!
Heather und Nick waren super freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Wir haben unsere Zeit bei Ihnen sehr genossen, danken ihnen und können die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen!
Two thumbs up! For my next time in New York Heather's apartment (rooms) would definitely be my place to stay.
