Description
****Please check with me before booking so I can confirm dates and prices. Please also read the detailed description below.****

This listing is just for one bedroom.

Room 6 is a very big room and has a double bed and a set of bunks. It suits small family groups or groups of friends. It's best with no more than three or four in the room. It has a desk, small fridge and cupboard.

Campsie Guesthouse is very old so be prepared for a scruffy paint job, and bathrooms that certainly aren't modern! Although the house is scruffy and falling down in parts it does meet all standards of safety - there is an up to date fire panel and alarm system, proper closing fire doors on each room, and each room locks for privacy. The house is not overcrowded and much more peaceful than your usual hostel. It's more like one big share home.

There are seven separate bedrooms with a very flexible set up. The biggest room (Room 2) will fit a family or group of friends, the smallest (Room 5) is just big enough for bed and desk.

It's hostel standard and at most there can be 15 people on that floor of the building sharing three bathrooms, a common room, and a kitchen. Foxtel/Cable TV is in the lounge room, and we also provide a house cleaner once a week along with fresh hotel quality linen for your rooms. Wifi is free. We don't however have any air conditioning – just fans.

We have a huge verandah and an outdoor courtyard too with BBQ and smoking areas so there is quite a lot of space and it's a relaxed, cheap and cheerful place to stay. There is an outside laundry with coin operated washing machines and dryers.

I do not live on site, but we do have a live in manager. The house is set up for independent travelers. We don't have a reception desk and you will be left on your own to explore the city.

Campsie itself is not a tourist area. It's a mostly Asian area with a tonne of great local shops, supermarkets, a shopping mall, cafes and restaurants. All only a five min walk away. It's cheaper to stay where the locals live and eat than in the city or at the beaches!

From here it will take you 20-30 mins on a train into the city centre and about 40mins-1 hour to get to the beaches. You can catch the Burwood 400 bus from the Airport directly to our house making it very cheap.

Please use the word "UNICORN" in your booking to show you have read the room description.

PLEASE NOTE: We try our best to give you the room you booked but due to the unpredictable nature of juggling multiple guests who extend alongside upcoming new bookings you may be given a different room in the same guesthouse. If this would cause issues for you please consider other Wimdu properties. In trying to be fair we do not ask existing guests who love us to move out of rooms for new guests if a similar room in the house is instead empty

"Photos on the site may differ slightly from the actual room as we replace furniture and bedding as needed and have fun rearranging at times."

#3 Scruffy Old Campsie Guesthouse

Jody and her house managers were very nice. We felt welcome as we arrived and felt home quickly. They helped us wherever they could.
The room and the house were clean and tidy. We would stay again! :)

#1 Crossroads Rundown Guesthouse

Had a really nice time there !! Super bus connection to the city center and directly on the beach with bus stops right outside the front door !! By Metro also easily accessible. Very simple but very cozy. All were very hospitable and helpful !! Especially the Brazilian housekeeper Regina = D but Jody was really super nice, albeit rarely get to see. ; D optimally for a cheap night !! Again any time !! ;)

#6 Crossroads Rundown Guesthouse

We had a great time here, ideal for those who want a little more privacy, everyone was very friendly, it is close to the center (a bus in front which leads to the city in 25 minutes and 15-20 minutes from the subway stairs that leads us there 10 minutes).
Certainly there is a lot of noise because of passage on the road, but earplugs provided by Jody, and in the end we got used to the noise. There is no spice near the mall (including Aldi) is within 15-20 minutes walk.
Conclusion, price / quality ratio is perfect for those who do not have a light sleeper and are willing to walk a little!

We had a very pleseant and happy stay at The Crossroiads. Jody is very sweet and always willing to help you with everything. The Guesthouse is very easy to reach by bus, and there is a shopping mall close by. There is plenty of room to cook your own dinner /lunch /breakfast included all material you need to. Jody, thanks for having us over and thanks for your hospitality.

Scruffy Old Campsie Guesthouse Studio

Jody and her dad John are really nice lovely people.,they are very friendly, open minded and easy going.we enjoyed staying in their place everyday.
The house is a old solid house, need a little bit fixing, but clean and comfortable.there is not much of a garden but two big beautiful trees in the back yard attracting birds and providing a nice shade.during the night, jasmine flower's sweet smell filled in the air.
The place is close to public transport and lots of shops, but not on the busy road, great for travelers, very convenient spot, even if you come back late, still you can find some shops open.
Jody's guest house is not luxury but cozy and home like ,most of all, people make the place different.
Next time when we visit Sydney again, definitely we will go back to Jody and John.
