A beautiful and comfortable 80 square metre apartment with a fantastic view of a typical 17th century Dutch windmill.

This sunny and quiet apartment on the first floor, with lift, has also a lovely view over the water of a canal and over a park. On the water the most beautiful sailing boats pass quietly.

The large and artistic, decorated apartment has a fully fitted kitchen, modern shower room and a south facing balcony with a beautiful view.

The apartment is located on a quiet canal at the edge of the Jordaan.

There are supermarkets, shops, a gym, restaurants, pubs and two markets for (biological) food and (antique) stuff within walking distance and a nice, large municipal park 10 minutes walk away, also with good restaurants, pubs and interesting art- and cultural projects.

You can take a leisurely stroll along the Jordaan canals and reach Dam Square in about 25 minutes, or Anne Frank house in 15 minutes, or there is a bus or tram stopping some 3 minutes walk from the apartment which will whiz you into Dam in 10 minutes.

When the weather is nice this bus brings you to the famous Dutch beaches within 45 minutes.

The large sunny living room has a great big wooden table where you can breakfast looking out over the water, on a typical 17th Dutch windmill.

There is a south facing balcony to the front and the only traffic you'll see passing by are the typical Dutch bicyclists or boats sailing quietly by.

There is no separate bedroom, but the queen bed (160 x 200) is located in a niche where there are also wardrobes, and bedside tables. The bathroom is large and modern with shower and wash basin.

The half open kitchen is fully equipped with 5 ring cooker, large fridge, freezer and ice-cube maker, oven, microwave and dish washer.

The apartment has a washer and dryer for clothes.
When you want to relax in the cozy apartment, there are a lot of interesting films and television series on DVD (original English, Spanish or French language). You can use for free my typical old Amsterdam bicycle.

Reviews of this property
July 2014

The apartment is quite spacious and bright and close to everything – 5 min on tram 5 to MuseumPlein and maybe 8-10 to Central Station by bus 18. The building is quiet and on the canal with that historical windmill that adds character. A balcony is definitely a bonus – you can see boats passing by. First floor and elevator are great for those having difficulty with Amsterdam steep stairs. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking (minus coffee-maker – broken, but hopefully will be fixed by the time you get there): lots of pots and pans and spices. Wi-fi works really well. Overall we had a nice stay, though the apartment would definitely benefit from a facelift and more thorough cleaning.
What you may or may not realize is that you’re not dealing directly with the owner, but with a middleman - http://www.amsterdamstay.com/ , and they also employ other companies for checking you in, having your luggage stored in case you come early etc. We didn’t know that at the time of booking and realized only after. Checkout is not earlier that 3 pm; if the apartment is available earlier, you have to pay $40 for early check-in. We arrived at 6am and were offered to store our luggage at some storage that didn’t have a working elevator; we had to haul the suitcases to the 5th (!) of an old house (just leave your suitcases at Amsterdam Centraal – same price, no stairs). But the major setback was directions to our place – very confusing and sometimes wrong. When we finally got to the place 10 min after 3pm (check-in time), our greeter already left, and we had to call him and wait. When he showed up, he told us, that we could’ve had the place at 12pm with no extra-charge. Go figure...
After that rocky beginning, we had a great stay. We were lucky to be with the whole city when Holland played Mexico at the MuseumPlein – you can’t wish for more...

644 Amazing Apartment
