Reviews of this property
On arrival, we found that the apartment look slightly different from the pictures and was a bit dirty, shower was not cleaned, kitchen cabinets were messy and dirty, carpet was horrendous stained and filthy, the same can be said about the sofa (that we had to cover in order to use)
On departure we were given an amount to paid for electrity even though nobody had done a reading for it.
Advised the owner about all of that and never got a reply from him.
Overall this place could do some much better if the owner cared a little bit of his clients and property
Reviews for this host's other properties
There were (noisy) construction of a building in front of window. Owners demand to pay additionaly for the electricity (10 reals for a day!).
We stood a week in this flat, in January. This flat is perfectly located, 50m from Copacabana beach, and 15min walk from Ipanema. Many bars, restaurants and shops within 5min walk.
Flat in itself is clean and well equipped, and the doorman downstairs very friendly.
I would definitely recomend this flat!
I received a professional service from David when staying in Rio de Janeiro. He used to reply to my emails very fast and that was something very good taking into account that he is in USA and u are in a city far from your hometown. Maybe some things were a little old but the apartment was fine if u think about quality price ratio.

Very helpful host
This appt has an excellent situation and is a stone throw from the beach. It's bright modern and everything works perfectly as internet, hot water...which is much enjoyable. You have nice restaurants and shops around, it's on Copacabana but close to Ipanema too. There was a micro wave but no cooker which is important to know if you really want to cook and stay for a long time. It also should be calm as it is not on the noisy road but face the beach (with no views as it is blocked by buildings but bright as in a courtyard). The main problem was that one of the flat was undergoing heavy work and this nice flat of mine turned into pure hell. Of course David the Manager seemed not to be aware of this in advance as he is not the owner of the building. He told me that Rio is a noisy city in construction before major coming events which I understand. He tried to send someone to check about the noise as I kept sending emails, but that person seemed to think I was overdoing it arguing that you could hardly be disturbed by works on the ground floor when you stay on the sixth floor! I kept answering that I was jet lagged, that I could not sleep as it was like I had the work in my own flat because of the echo of the courtyard! They thought the works was going to cease and said they could not refund me. I was so desperate that I said that I did not care and was going to take a hotel room which was true. After 4 days David realized that the works were going to last and offered another studio in a another street, very charming, not noisy and residents were more locals than tourists which was very pleasant as an immersion experience. I had a great time in that other place all because about the tranquility and I do appreciate that David was able to move me to this other place at no extra charge. I just think that when you spend only 7 days somewhere and that there are unbearable works going on, even if the owner is not directly responsible, you should immediately be refund or relocated. I am not talking about works going on outside as construction or normal noise coming from the street. I was working in Rio but I wished my free time in that fantastic city could have been quieter and more restful instead of living on sleeping pills!
