Writing about one's self isn't always easy. As a host, I have taken a lot of time, maybe too much, to give you a relatively good idea of who I am and pretty much what you can expect when you meet me. As such, I appreciate the same from you. Please do have a profile completed and a picture uploaded. Thank you in advance for that.

Our home is just a 3 minute walk to the Blue Line train. 5 minutes if you walk like my mom, 3 minutes if you walk/run like me. This is the train that takes you directly to O'Hare airport. To come from Midway you would take the Orange Line and switch for the Blue Line at Van Buren and continue on. If you prefer, I can connect you to a private driver. It's also a 5 minute drive to the 290 on ramp.

We are very convenient to downtown Chicago and all the attractions such as the Sears "Willis" Tower, Millenium Park, Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, Museum of Science and Industry, the Art Institute, Lincoln Park Zoo, Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum (with the free flying butterflies. Best nature museum and I've been to many) and Navy Pier, just to name a few (and that's really just a few. There are so many more things to do!)

Please also look to the right at my other properties as I rent a total of 5 rooms and can accommodate larger groups.

Our home is pretty laid back, not too lively, (depending on the weather really. If it's nice outside, everyone is out!) but can be with my son (20 and likes to make a grand entrance!). We are a bmx/bicycle and dancing friendly house!

The room is located upstairs by the bathroom. It has a twin sized bed, desk and mini fridge. The rate includes WIFI and of course water, electric, air conditioning/heat.

We are walking distance to the Jewel and CVS (about 5 blocks). Next door to the Jewel is a Budget/Avis car rental for those times you just want to drive around.

We are around the corner from a yoga studio called Yoga Trek, some great restaurants, La Majda for Mexican, Italian and The Buzz Cafe (great free range beef burger) for Eclectic fare, and just one train stop away from Brazilian, American, more Mexican food, Hole in the Wall for ice cream (yum) and a Pans, a small family owned grocery store. A laundry is next to the Brazilian restaurant. Don't forget to try the passion fruit mousse - delicious!

For the architecture buff, Frank Lloyd Wright's home and studio is located here in Oak Park along with many of his buildings. Guided tours are available. I haven't been on this, but it sounds fantastic. "Pedal Oak Park Tour
Every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, June 7 - September 29
9:30 am Explore Oak Park's picturesque historic neighborhoods on a guided bicycle tour of 22 Wright-designed structures.

It's also the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway.

We do have pets; cats and dogs. They are not allowed in the bedrooms, but that does not mean they don't run in if the door is left open. [Please read the ** below.] Jill, our tiny dachshund is a hit with many of our guests.

Smoking is allowed outside. All I ask is that you dispose of cigarette butts properly.

All reservations must go through AIRBNB including last minute reservations.

We do have pets. We have cats and we have dogs. Although the animals are not allowed in the bedrooms, it does not mean that they won't try to get in if you leave the door open. If you have any allergies or aversions to cats and/or dogs please keep this information in mind. Apparently Elizabeth my cat is a bit of a smarty pants. If you have cats you will know what I mean. :) A new lock has been installed on the bedroom so she can't sneak in. Thanks!

Please do ask any questions you can think of.
Thanks so much!
House rules
If you come in late, please be quiet so you don't wake anyone up. We are environmentally friendly. Please turn off your lights. Shut the windows if the central air is on. Please be conservative with water as Lake Michigan is at an all time low. We do not have drains in our bathroom floors. Please do not throw water all around the bathroom. Please make sure the shower curtain is closed and water does not get all over the floor.
Smoking is allowed outside. If you smoke, please throw your cigarette butts in the dumpsters in the alley, not my garden in the front yard.

A quite old house with 4 private rooms. The location is perfect, easy to reach from airport (no need to change the train) and easy to get into city center. Nice equiped room and clean bathroom. Everything was perfect organised.

Comfortable, Safe and Convenient to Downtown Chicago

The room is clean, spacious and well-equiped. There is a spacious closet and a comfortable bed. The refrigerator and the microwave work. The house, located in the quiet suburb of Oak Park, is close to downtown thanks to its close proximity to the Blue Line el.
Tamara is a great hostess. She is personable and concerned about the comfort of her guests. For example, when the microwave in my room « died », she replaced it the same day. She keeps the bathroom clean and provides clean linen each week. She is always just a text message away. I am so pleased with my stay with Tamara that I have extended it.

Comfortable, Safe and Convenient to Downtown Chicago

Tamara was very friendly.
The bathroom, which I shared with the male roommates of the house was very dirty. The shower (bath) I could not use. The toilet was also smeared and dirty.
Before I left because I had no opportunity to respond to the Tamara uncleanliness which took place only on departure.
Then she said that down with her I had the bathroom could use. You've forgotten me probably to tell.
The room is separated to the next room and the corridor only by folding doors, which makes it a bit noisy.

Comfortable, Safe and Convenient to Downtown Chicago

Tamara's place was what I needed for a quick couple of nights in Chicago: a clean bed and access to Wifi. We didn't get a chance to meet, but she made sure someone was home to let me in and give me the code to the door for my stay. Parking was a little bit tricky (had to be off the street by 8 a.m.) because of street sweeping, but she offered to give me a parking permit.
