Barcelona even got inspired by IJburg when it designed its own enlargement El Prat Nord (Source: Het Parool), a district that is build by Dutch architects Claus en Kaan. IJburg consists of six artificial islands. The two main islands are Steigereiland and Haveneiland. Although the combination of water, air and urban vibe makes all architecture at IJburg worth seeing, there are some spots you shouldn't miss!
The Blijburg Beach is at walking distance, while shops, bars and restaurants are just around the corner. You can reach Amsterdam city centre within 11 minutes by using tram line 26 to Central Station, which runs every 5 minutes. From Central Station it is only 20 minutes to the airport by train.
A taxi to the airport will take only 30 minutes, and the main ring road around Amsterdam is only a few minutes away. Street parking in the surrounding streets is limited, but there are Park & Ride facilities at 5 minutes’ drive towards to city centre.
IJburg is known for its design. Many architecture lovers visit this part of Amsterdam, where 75% of its houses was designed and built by the buyers themselves, without any planning restrictions. So many streets are filled with extraordinary designs and architecture! On the southern part of this island is the design strip with its trendy Dutch design shops.
On the next island (5 min) there is a shopping area where you can get everything you need for a pleasant stay. On Saturdays there is a weekly market next to the shopping area.
The house is divided over three floors.
From the street you enter the huge living/kitchen with its 3 meter ceilings, fitted with all modern appliances. On this floor there is also a hall and a separate toilet. Located in the front of the house you find a terrace where guests can enjoy the evening sun.
There is a large master bedroom and two smaller bedrooms. On this floor there is also a bathroom with shower, toilet, washbasin and laundry facilities.
