The location is central, safe and nestled in a lovely area where the boundaries of Recoleta and Palermo are blended. It is just a short walk to Santa Fe Avenue which is the main nerve of the neighborhood and carries a wide offer of commercial shops of every type. Supermarkets, banks, bakeries, coffee stores, restaurants, pubs and commercial shops are all of them just steps away. A lovely boulevard (4 blocks long) filled with a variety of gastronomic stores starts just one block away and offers you a quick parade to meet the social life in the city. Buenos Aires's size is gigantic and it seems impossible to find a central base point to plan for your own walking tours but the apartment's location simplifies walking to a lot of the most important touristic spots. For instance, Soho's heart where all its nightlife happens is at just 12 blocks away and Recoleta's main attractions are also at 10-12 blocks as well. Some of my guests have decided to make most of their trip by walking which despite the huge size of the city, the centralized location of the apartment makes it possible.
One of the key features of the apartment's location is how easy is to connect to the rest of town in just a few minutes. Among all the public transport services, the subway is the most convenient one to explore the city. Although the bus network coverage is wide, it is not an easy service to use for the one that is not familiarized with it because bus travel stops are not announced in Buenos Aires so you will never be sure where to drop off. The subway instead runs on a straight path, stops are announced and it is very fast. The subway coverage is wide but the stops won't always drop you at the front's door of your destination (you will mostly need to walk a few blocks). The apartment is at 4 blocks from the closest subway stop of the D subway line (the green one). The D subway line travels through Palermo, then crosses Recoleta and ends at Downtown. The ticket is amazingly cheap (less than half a dollar)
Another excellent and fun way to trip the city is by bike. You can get your bike for free by using the public bike network. You will need to download a mobile app to use the service and register yourself. Once you become a user you will be able to pick up your bike from the many bike stops that are distributed among the city. The closest one to the apartment is at only 2 blocks.
