I'm an Irish woman who has been living in The Netherlands for 18 years. My apartment is located in Scheveningen which is only a short 10 min tram ride from Den Haag City Center or The Hague as some may know it is 20 mins away from Rotterdam and 45 mins away from Amsterdam.
My apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a 7 story building and has a little balcony with seating which you are welcome to use. The supermarket is very close by. The shops on the very lovely Frederik Hendriklaan is also very close by.
Scheveningen is a resort where you can enjoy lots of excellent clubs, bars and restaurants that are all within walking distance, public transport is very convenient but there is also free parking all around my area.
Scheveningen was once a little fishing village before the road which connects it to Den Haag was built but it has expanded a lot in the latter years, it's very much a tourist area and has visitors from all over the globe at all times of the year. There are some excellent bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the apartment and more up at and around the famous Kurhus Hotel but of naturally I will be more than happy to show you where the best ones are! ;-)

Shopaholics can shop their heart's content in Scheveningen. The boulevard offers the most touristic kind of shops. Whilst the Palace Promenade and the Keizerstraat gives a wider shopping selection. Do realize that the prices might be slightly higher on the boulevard then in the regular shops. Grab that shopping bag and shop till you drop!
The Palace Promenade shopping mall offers a wide selection of shops and restaurants. The entrance is located across from the cinema (close by New York Pizza and Burger King).
There are many small shops where you can buy clothes, books, jewelry and much more. The end of the shopping mall leads right onto the boulevard of Scheveningen. The Keizerstraat is one of the oldest shopping streets of Holland. The shopping street is located right in the historical heart of Scheveningen village. Walk to the end of the street and you'll find yourself right on the beach of Scheveningen. The Keizerstreet has more than 100 shops to suite your shopping needs. At the end of the Keizerstraat you can still find the original church. This is the oldest monument in Scheveningen and originated from the 15th century.
